Nah I think they will fight. Kishi built up to the final fight between Naruto and Sasuke since Sasuke left the village.
Honestly, I'll be surprised if they don't fight in this war

The build up has been leading to their fight and Naruto's saying he'd die with Sasuke cemented that. It helped push him to taking Itachi's eyes. This arc where Sasuke travels with the new Taka will determine if he goes completely bad or not. Kakashi's battle with Obito is a good forshadow of how their story will end because of the parallels.

Most people believe that Naruto vs Sasuke is imminent because of the prediction made by the Great Elder Toad Sage.

Well......has it slipped people's notice that Naruto is already doing that?

Sasuke is nothing like he used to be when he made that promise to fight Naruto first. Meeting Itachi has overwritten his manipulation by Obito. He is seeking guidance to come up with a rational decision for his future actions! When did he ever do that before? Never!

Just ask yourself this....how will a fight between Sasuke and Naruto break the original curse of hatred? Won't it just continue it?

Naruto is destined to bring peace to the world, end the curse of hatred!
