This Izanami genjutsu needs physical contact to work,and Itachi will loose an eye which has all ready gone dark btw but maybe he can manipulate time like the Tsukiyomi,but apperantly its stronger than Tsukiyomi and Itachi's tsukiyomi last 72hrs to 1 minute while he was alive.maybe the Izanimi can last years and Itachi will give Kabuto a choice either stay in this genjutsu forever or release the edo jutsu which will release Itachi and end Izanami, and after spending all that time collecting parts of people to "find himself" Kabuto is gonna have to release edo or be traped in a looping genjutsu in which no matter what he does he cant win, this will take some time he will not give in so easily.so next week we should be back to the "Madara's" VS the kages and the jinjurikis VS Tobi and i still think Guy is gonna open all eight gates to save Kakashi,and a little more info on Tobi will be revealed,which should make things eaiser for Naruto and Bee.And WHY THE HELL did the eight tails not tell bee about the origen of the tailed beasts.

I'm still not convinced that Kabuto has no other way out of this. If he's been doing all this research and prep.... I don't know. Maybe just another convenient plot no jutsu in the form of an inescapable tech.

Also, Kishi noted that the fight between Madara and the Kage was one of the one's that would decide the fate of the war. If Izanami ends Edo Tensei, doesn't that fight become irrelevant then? Maybe, though, that's what Kabuto was referring to in part when he said he made Madara better than he was. Maybe he's a special Edo? GAH! Brain....melting.... Too many possibilities!!!

5 chapters from now we will probably have forgotten all about izanami and focused on how hax madara is or tobi. its just the new hotness. things were so much more exciting and interesting when we first saw sharingan in kakashi vs zabuza. this isnt even sharingan anymore. its just dumping hax illusions on people for the sake of kishi writing himself out of a corner. he made kabuto too powerful and now brings into it a jutsu neither foreshadowed nor ever mentioned before this fight. if its so incredible, why the hell not?
and it presents a gigantic plothole because why didn't itachi just use this shit on tobi? was he hoping the situation would fix itself and the invincible immortal would be taken down SOMEHOW? was saving the world before it began a war not worth a single eye? is there any reason why we need to sit through this when theres far more interesting characters than these damn uchihas spamming powers at each other? why cant we learn more about the things we have heard about but are still mysteries? but now kishi is gonna spend 3 chapters just explaining what the **** this even does.
also how is being trapped in an endless loop supposed to end edo tensei? unless itachi is risking everyones lives by trusting kabuto to do the right thing instead of forcing his eyelids open and tsukiyomi'ing his ass.
im just so tired of this shit and itachi being a blatant mary sue who cant be beaten and is so perfect that every word out of his mouth isnt even debatable since if itachi believes hes right, he must be right.
i wish i joined the fandom in early part 2/late part 1. that was the golden age of naruto. itachi was still a cool evil bastard (not a preachy extremist playing god with peoples lives and commiting mass genocide for delusions of peace), naruto went rip shit riot kyuubi on people instead of being a preachy arrogant douche etc. those were the goddamn days.
at the very least kishi needs to cut away from this and get back to naruto vs tobi, the only remaining interesting fight due to tobis identity.

Izanami is bullshit ..it just oh so happens to be the most perfect counter jutsu for kabuto ..wtf is kishi thinking creating a hax jutsu like that? I hate itachi but this poses the question who couldn't he defeat with Izanami ..Itachi > basically everyone in narutoverse outside of madara and possibly tobi

i think one of he main reason he didnt use it on some people was because, he was saving it for Sasuke. what use is a blinded eye to sasuke. same with Minato and the Kyubbi... they could have stopped Kurama in a different way, but he chose his son as to not waste giving it up for something else.

Itachi only has mangekyo and can use izanagi/izanami.

Izanagi/Izanami is a mangekyo technic.

Could Sasuke spam izanagi/izanami if he had chakra without losing his eyes?

Izanami kind of reminds me a bit of the movie Ground Hog Day with Bill Murray. He lives Ground Hog Day over and over until he gets it "right." Kabuto is in an infinite loop until he makes the right choice - the right choice according to Itachi, which is to release the Edo Tensei.

Itachi, yet again, shows why he is an amazing shinobi. He not only uses his dojutsu but he has superb weaponry skills, taijutsu skills and the ability to see weaknesses in jutsu often before the caster realizes those weaknesses. As badass as he is, he is also humble in realizing that he can't do everything. Kabuto, on the other hand, is so insecure - as many villains are - that he feels he has to rule everything and truly believes he is unbeatable.

man awsome post. u mentioned every thing that i wanted to say . +rep from my side. kishi is really dumb shit to make such a bad story these day. i mean as u also said if itachi was so much fking powerful then he should had izanmi or izanagi on tobi , instead of implanting amatersu on sasuke to stop tobi. these eye jutusu are appearing out of no where and even fking dead shinobi can change the course of battle. i wont be surprised if SO6P appears out of nowhere to stop edo madara or tobi just beacuse kishi wants so. and he appears so dumb like he might give it to us also. manga is becoming so much trash shit and what cames out of it is fking weird and unpredectible.:sy:

the hell why does everyone keep saying why didnt itachi use izanami on tobi ?
Wouldnt izangi > izanami , it would just turn Izanami's reality into an illusion .. if that makes sense ?

on a side note : i wonder if itachi can regenerate his eye beacause he is an edo so he can just spam izanami until kabuto makes his choice ? i'm pretty sure kabuto will save his own ass though because of his lifes ambition to complete oro's work

while waiting for kabuto to accept his destiny and make the right decision, which is believed to end the edo tensei (in the izanami loop),,,, probably itachi and sasuke will have that flashback conversation (in reality), just like what itachi promised to tell sasuke. because soon after kabuto stop edo tensei then itachi will be dead again right?

a mean honestly tho its **** up that kabuto is going out this way(hopefully kishi will bring a surprise) also im a big fan of the sharingan butt izanami is a bit farfetched to me. its seemed like a jus pull this to make the fight end kinda thing kishi did. a mean check it, izanagi is a bad ass move tht brings/slash prevents death once(or many dependin on the eyes u have hehe) and at a cost u lose ur eyesight in the fact that ur eyelid closes automatically no ifs ands or maybes and thats why its forbidden. what makes izanami forbidden? because u decide what the person does????? a mean shit normal sharingan techniques can control ppl! plus when and how did he catch him in it??? werent kabuto's eyes covered....? i think this chapter poses alot more questions and answers are far off.

I think kabuto got caught in the genjutsu of itachi when he stepped on itachi's crow feathers because if u look it this way IZANAMI started happening from then till then the end hope this answers ur question. :shrug:

i dont think kabuto will be defeated easily. because somehow he became a major antagonist of the story. the story will be cut short if he die i think :S
so i'm sure he can break the illusion somehow. and do you think those water droplets on kabuto's shoulder is connected with izanami?

For those who think that Kabuto will be able to escape the gengutsu. I believe, Zetzu will help him, remember that Zetsu´s spores are attached to Kabuto. He can just appear just like when Susuke was fighting Kakashi at the bridge. Madara told Zetsu to attach some spores of him to Kabuto before leaving to hide.
