I really don't see how Itachi and Sasuke can beat Kabuto. All eye techs, sage modes, and other irrelevent stuff won't kill Kabuto if he can just summon Edo Madara if he gets in a tight spot.

She had already eaten the food of the underworld and was now one with the land of the dead. She could no longer return to the living.

This could mean two things, 1) since Itachi is already a part of the dead, the effect of Izanami might not affect him, or 2) after using the Izanami, Itachi will die

If you would know a little about japanese mythology, you would also know that izanami, amaterasu and all the other ms technics are based on japanese gods.
So izanami was allready predicted. It has nothing to do with loosing creativity. :flaw:

I think izanami will make it to where whatever the user may focus on it makes it no longer exist based off of the mythology that I read a while ago I think that's how it may go. Don't quote me though because its been a long time since I read about izanami.

I guess we're going to have to wait at least another two weeks of Uchiha brothers vs. Kabuto. I'm not really into it, I was hoping we'd go back to Naruto vs. Tobi. but i hate it when people complain about talk no jutsu. first of all there have been more battles that last year ever because of the war and i mean alot of fighting. and secondly without talk no jutsu there wouldnt be a story and there would be alot of pointless fighting...

Wow, that would be an amazing plot twist.

Maybe that is what Tobi was referring to in the flashback when he said Itachi PRETENDED to attack Konoha, he knew Itachi didn't kill the clan he did. I'm also starting to think Itachi was a mole inside Akatsuki, maybe he was the one giving information to Jiraiya.

Personally, I would love this to happen.

I actually thought the same.. Itachi has to be the one that was giving info to jiraiya... And I have this premonition that Itachi didn't kill his clan but who knows will find out soon enough.

Also Itachi is going to use izanami with sasuke after all izanagi and izanami were siblings lol

Like the various techniques used with the Sharingan, this technique is named after a Shintō god. In this case, it is Izanami, who, together with her brother and husband Izanagi, created the islands and other deities of Japan.
One of the most famous stories about Izanami tells the tale of how Izanagi goes into Yomi, the Japanese underworld, to retrieve her after she died giving birth to the Shintō fire god Kagutsuchi. In Yomi, he manages to get Izanami and they both try to leave, however Izanagi was not supposed to look at her before they escape. Right before they reach the exit, Izanagi looks back and sees her in a decayed form. Frightened, Izanagi flees from Yomi and blocks the cave. Izanami curses Izanagi saying that she will kill 1000 people per day. In response, Izanagi says that 1500 people will be born each day.

Izanagi is a Genjutsu the user casts on himself, and it turns reality into a dream, ie, replaces what's really happening with what the User wants to happen. Like when Danzo was killed by Sasuke 10 times, each time he used Izanagi to turn reality into a dream, meaning it didn't really happen.

If Izanagi is the power to undo things, then Izanami would be the opposite - the power to make things happen. In this case, it would be the power to make whatever Itachi thinks of, a reality to the user.

So let's say he imagines that Kabuto undoes the Edo Tensei. Then he activates Izanami and BAM, Kabuto undoes Edo Tensei.

I'm willing to bet that something along those lines will happen, and Itachi will lose the sight in one of his eyes, which is why he tells Sasuke to stay close, so he can back him up.

seriously, have you not noticed that the MS abilities are named after the gods/goddesses of shinto. Kishi is sticking with his proper naming convention, the fault in creativity lies not with Kishi, but with the ancient Japanese who named their gods.

I gave it a 3/5, simply because the chapter itself was all talk and quite boring. But the revealing of Izanami in the end aaalmost pushed it over the line to 4/5. Next chapter will hopefully bring some more action.
