just now we dont know what came first byakugan or sharingan .. all we know is that kakashi mentioned that the byakugan was first and deidara acknowledged that the eyes are related. we know that sharingan and senju came at the same time from the sage but nothing about byakugan.
where did the byakugan even came from did the sage made it before the senju and uchiha? xd i think we will get a track in about 10 or 20 episodes
thats a possibility because they never mentioned it again so they can put another flashback afterwards
about jiraiya ... he is definitely dead because nagato used his jutsu on konoah and no one else so

Hi 4bdn!
Byakugan, Sharingan and Rinnegan are great eye powers. Neji's father's eyes could be very well comparable to great doujutsus --as my personal opinion. He was a very powerful user of his byakugan, this could be assumed to this point of the storyline. We all know Neji's father was sacrificed for the sake of the clan. Sacrifice - was the path of the Hyuuga clan, not their byakugan.
Now, eye powers are the best among the senses any human possesses.
Humans have 5 sensory types (this is basic):
1. Seeing - this is through the eyes...byakugan is just one great power...may or may not be as powerful compared to the other two. Yet, I think that this sensory power is greatly relying on the user...so, therefore, eye powers depend on the owner of the eyes.
2. Hearing - through the ears...we have encountered normal abilities in the shinobi world, so far there is no one featured with great hearing powers ( I could be mistaken). I know a hero who's had exceptional hearing powers that he uses this sense "to actually see others" -- he is "dare devil" of the marvel superheroes.
3. Tasting - tongue ability.
4. Touching - through skin.
5. Smelling - function of the nose. Here we got plenty of shinobi examples - kakashi, kiba et al.
I got to share another level of sense-type..and you know this. It is what we call "the sixth sense". We refer to it as "premonition" - the power to have an idea or the power to "see" the future. This is typified by "a third eye". This might interest you since you asked about eye powers.
And madara's new masked has this third eye profile - interesting ...right?. But this will need a longer write-up.
Did I mention sixth sense?!! Is it in connection to six paths?!!

...and 4bdN, I do believe Jiraiya Sensei is all done for. He died, that is the storyline telling us ... unless there would be a twist somewhere in the coming chapters. I'm sure the pervy sage will reincarnate...something kishi has up on his sleeves to surprise us.

your theory is very interesting and might be true. but in my opinion, the paths aren't symbols(if we can call them this way). I think the paths are:
1.rinnegan
2.sharingan
3.byakugan
4.senju dna
5.juubi (we all know that s06p had the juubi in him until the moment he died? and divided him in the tailed beasts--->madara's hunt for them)
6.madara's original body??? (the need of gedo rinne that he spoke of) or perhaps the uchiha dna...this would be more plausible.
the first three give him the eyes, and the last three the body. I'm not very sure about the last one, so please argue with me

Wel wat 2 say about the sage of six paths. What i think of it is this> It has 2 do with Ninja n The power they posses, if you read ch 510 properly then:
1. Senju, is one 0f d six paths.
2. Madara, d second.
3. Pein s third.
NOW Senju n Pein is in Madara i.e, 3 sage is now 1 being!
4. offcourse Naruto is one of them.
There r jus 2 more.
However i dont think a byakugan possesser can b d 6path, bcuz d true 'sage f 6 paths' had strong genjutsu n ninjutsu in him.
Then he split them, creating all the tailed beast.

I see you refer to my theories as symbols. That is the best description...symbols. I've been thinking of my theory as virtues/principles/passage/life-experiences and many more of that degree. But to coin it as "symbols" -- great!!!
Anyways, just a "friendly" argument,,,"an exchange of ideas or opinions" that is...
1. Eyes and bodies are symbols as well. Teachings of old symbolize gods and sages or wisemen as "eyes" -- this is your good point. Better yet, Ancient Idols and revered icons were symbolized as bodies which mostly had deep meanings and explanations.
2. Simply put, your theory of the paths is "part" and parcel of a "whole"(please correct me).
3. You have three eye parts and three body parts -- an interesting thought. Please elaborate...
As for me I will elaborate my first path --- "LOVE"
* Love - as I said (and I think madara mentioned as harashima), is the first the 1st Hokage. According to the storyline, harashima wanted to unify the nations to achieve peace. He befriended madara at some point, even offered a share of the hokage's power. Harashima distributed the tailed beasts to the nations. These attributes are "love" supporting principles and discipline. Harashima wanted balance/yin-yang in every aspect. So he is "love-path" -- for me. I believe he experienced hate--especially towards madara. He sacrificed..the tailed beasts under his control, and he "accepted "the share in balance of power by distributing these tailed beasts. Then, harashima had been through "wars".
But, ultimately -- here is my question.... did he achieve "PEACE"?
You know the answer is no. That is why he can't be the SO6P. I believe neither is madara.
I will explain my 2nd path next time. I hope with you...

first of all thank you for your consideration. now let me explain my ,,eyes and body" theory.
eyes: we know that rinnegan was the first eye technique and that sharingan and byakugan evolved from him, directly or indirectly(sharingan from byakugan or viceversa). obtaining all 3 eyes would be an unification of the powers...a return to the root if I can say so(rikudo's eyes).-->first 3 paths
body: we know that uchiha and senju were descendants from the two sons of rikudo. obtaining both dna's would mean another unification(senju+uchiha=younger+elder son) and return to the root(rikudo's body). we also know that so6p was a jinchuuriki. this is where the juubi comes in.
tailed beasts(juubi) + dna's = s06p's body. -->last 3 paths.
I hope I explained it well...waiting for opinions

To explain it a bit..In chapter 510,we saw Madara/Tobi to say to Nagato that he is the third of the six paths..In other words,he told us that possesses the three of the six paths..
According to your theory,Madara possesses 4 of the six paths as he has the rinnengan,senju dna and of couse as an uchiha the dna and the sharingan..The only missing are the 3rd eye and the juubi.
So your theory has a 'small' problem,doesnt it?
One more thing that i would like to discuss with you guys is what if all this is an illusion coming from Madara's Izanagi.I dont really want to believe it but why do he has all these sharingans on his basement?

Yes that's right Madra said that Nagato was the 3rd SO6P so that means the first was Rikudo, second was Madara and 3rd was Nagato. And I don't think that the Byakugan will come into play seriously it was suppose to be as strong as the Sharingan but so far in this manga Byakugan has been sorta disappointing and now the manga has come too far to show now that Byakugan is also an important element. And most probably Madara uses all those extra Sharingans in his basement to replace those eyes with which he uses Izanagi only this time he replaced the Sharingans with the Rinnegan.
