OT- Its not Hinata's death alone, Naruto sprouted 8-9 of his tails when pein used chikabu tensai. But thats also because of the death of Jiraiya and kakashi. He became truly lost because he couldnt answer Nagato's question. His inner conflict led to the release of his tails- Hinata getting hurt was the trigger.

Well that is because he stabbed her and almost killed her so that is why he went 6 tails. It is not the same because orochimaru was only talking about him. In conclusion, If it was sasuke getting stabbed instead of being talked about, naruto would have went 6 tails against orochimaru.
