SM has nothing to do with the kyuubi so saying SM Naruto could beat Pain is false. Naruto also had absolutely no control over the kyuubi's power and when it took over Naruto's will completely vanished hence it wasn't his power, it was the kyuubi's who's an entirely separate entity from Naruto.

If you say SM Naruto vs Pain then you only take into account the abilities SM Naruto has, not the kyuubi because that's a completely different power all together. SM Naruto can't beat Pain and that was clearly shown in the manga when Pain had several opportunities to kill him but didn't due to him needing Naruto alive.

It was only when the kyuubi took over did Naruto have the advantage.

Wow people actually think that Naruto could beat Pain on his own? That is very laughable because it wouldn't happen. SM is good but vastly overrated. You can clearly watch this fight and tell that Naruto would have gotten owned if he was by him self vs Pain. It's that clearly obvious.

Kyubbi isn't a ninja tool. Kurama is a different being from Naruto and has nothing to do with SM . SM cannot hold its own against Pein. IF the Deva Path was available the fight would have ended within an episode.

you are soo right except for the part where in the manga naruto was owning till pain got the rods in him. Oh and yea i agree if deva path was available it would have ended quicker but guess what it wasn't and when it was naruto won!

Naruto SM was owning the crap outta Pain. The only time Pain managed anything against Naruto was when he was out of Sage Mode.
