After world war 2, Japan adopted a pacifist constitution which was called the "peace constitution". The nation basically renounced its right to wage war and instead it adopted a defensive stance. Naruto, the manga, reflects this stand on peace.

To achieve peace, revenge must be replaced by forgiveness. To perform forgiveness, you must go beyond yourself by trying to understand somebody who had hurt you in the past or who has the potential to hurt you in the future. This, I believe, sums up the ideology of most of the protagonist characters in the manga like Jiraiya, Naruto and a lot more.

The manga is basically all about a struggle for peace. Even the antagonists, such as Madara and the re-enlightened Nagato, are driven by their own version of peace. But the question remains - what is the true version of peace? Or which is the most realizable version of peace? Naruto's peace that is characterized by true understanding among every person or Madara's illusionary peace? Kishi obviously thinks that Naruto's version is the right one but how can it be achieved? You can't expect everyone to understand one another that easily. On the other hand, Madara's method promises a quick fix. I really want to know how Kishi will address this central question in the story, if ever it is going to be addressed at all.

Meanwhile, there has been attempts to amend the peace constitution of japan. I can't blame them. With North Korea flexing its Nuclear Muscle and china doubling its military budget, japan is fidgeting on its pacifist seat.

Narutoverse and our universe face the same dilemma. What path shall we choose?

Danzo can represent the Nationalist party of japan, which I think still clings to some philosophies of the imperial japan. (I'm not really 100 % sure on the 'nationalist party' since I'm not a japanese.)

I'm still not sure about akatsuki. but I have some ideas which I believe can offend others, so I won' mention it.

well I posted the thread because it has always been on my head since I've started being a fan of Naruto. I also always discuss this with my friends who are also naruto fans. So I guess I'm serious about it.

i agree with you in the most parts. of course the manga represents japans official constitution.
even the war in the manga is kind of the thing you would expect of japan, since the alliance defends points where they are attacked, not the other way round.

however, in reality i doubt that peace can be accomplished by anything except pressure by the global public and even that fails with governments which are non-democratic or just have a influential gun lobby (like America). as long as hunger for inluence and wealth exist, war wont stop to exist, true understanding is neither possible nor interesting for most of humanity.

i dont know if kishi will answer the question, i doubt that he even can answer the question seriously, but the level of writing the manga is momentarily, i could imagine just some kind of hokum coming up.
