ok here is 5 reasons why
1 his chakra: it is massive and rivals that of 2 tailed beasts worth i mean he can last against a bijuu like kurama for even the short amount time they fought that is still excellent. hell tsunade and jiraiya could not handle a six tailed naruto if they even tried this is the nine tails we're talking about the most powerful of all bijuu
2 the ability to create a small army: i mean with nine tails under his control now and how they are linked. i mean before this naruto could create thousands of clones with a small amount of kurama's chakra. now he can use it all... he can literaly create a army of himself. strength is always good
but numbers are better
3 rasangan: it can be used to counter many things and do many things. like create whirlpools under water, thrown in rasenshuriken form, tossed in a filler. also lets not frget its a precursor to flash bijuu dama a power to counter all 5 tailed beasts combined chakra in the fight with naruto

i mean come on he may not be book smart but he is battle smart
5 kurama: his perfect link allows him to gain a seemingly ethreal kurama like cloak around him simular to madara's ultimate susanoo. this allowed to beat down not 1 not 2 but 5 tailed beasts i don't think even madara right now if he could die could handle five tailed beasts at once let alone being controlled.
this goes to show in many situations if you need somthing done like sneaking up on enemies to destruction of area the size a ****in village who you gonna call NARUTO!
