The entire chapter was called the prerequesite to being a hokage. So... Still not a theme? I'm not Kishi, I'm just reading the manga correctly. You ought to try it ;)

Lol now what? Being hokage is all there is to this manga?
U might try to reread it again. Its simple "bad" vs "good" (both subjective) with BS reasons for one to win vs another :p
Ur welcome :p

Ok I'm going to take this real slowly so you can understand. OK? OK.

Naruto wants to become Hokage. You with me so far?

Naruto has at many times in the series decided to take things into his own hands.

Naruto has had to learn from Itachi (a man who served his village admirably) that he CANNOT do things on his own

Naruto has now learned that relying on others is the true way to becoming a hokage

Naruto and Kishi have both linked becoming a hokage with relying on other people for assistance. This making it a central theme to Naruto Uzumaki's character. And being hokage is not all there is to the manga, but is a huge and vital part of Naruto's character.

I dare you to try and argue that. And nobody said anything about "bad" and "good". Subjective labels to not adhere to objective themes and plot points.

Problem?

PS: Naruto Sage Mode with some experience still shits on your fav char.

Cannot save 1 friend, and has let to die another, has let to die whole village, good thing nagato is a sweet fella. Wasnt it also strong theme?

Yes he did. He was sick of getting assistance and help from everybody around all the time. He better do some shit on his own from time to time.
Naruto has had to learn from Itachi (a man who served his village admirably) that he CANNOT do things on his own
Lol Naruto still has much to learn of Itachi. Any thing is more easily accomplish-able with help of others, its common sense not a must in becoming hokage and not a must to actually accomplish something.
So far Itachi accomplished many things alone. Naruto has yet to do that.
Naruto has now learned that relying on others is the true way to becoming a hokage
Plz delete it from OP. Its makes no sense makes me wanna puke.

Look so far obito managed to save his friends and sasuke when needed. Became a kage in a way by controlling one. Killed hokage, Gathered 7 bijus, declared a war on 5 great nations, revived juubi, can easily screw SA and finish his goal. Granted he had madara's wisdom, but he was the one to apply it in his own way.

One can accomplish many things.

The hell has Itachi accomplished? Other than a psychotic brother hellbent on destroying his village (edo itachi remedied things in his second ecounter) what on earth has Itachi accomplished. He didn't rid Orochimaru like planned (his brother once again screwing him over) and we have no clue whatsoever how his information on Akatsuki helped out the village.

And I want to clarify something. You have every right to dislike the theme of camaraderie, but you do not have a valid claim in saying Naruto sucks because he relies on other. That IS one of his central themes, one of the grounding elements that keeps his character steady.

And we will see exactly how amazingly Obito's brilliant plan works out. 100 bucks says he fails miserably. And right now he is no closer to achieving that goal considering Madara is on the loose and he's tied up with Kakashi.

And I'm sorry didn't his saving his friend on his own get a boulder crushed on his head? I'm sorry, that is a central theme and so far it's played out beautifully.

Naruto has many friends to rely on and a village that supports him. The Uchihas are batshit crazy with failure written ALL OVER THEM.

The only thing I am arguing here is him relying on other people was simply a stepping stone for his character. You may dislike it, but he sucks BECAUSE of it is an entirely different issue and one without a valid foundation.

Well; Naruto better not be a demi-God of a character; his comrades should do s**t too; why does someone have to do everything alone to have something counted as success? Narutois strong; but not being "enough" all the time shows that he is also strong with his friends... He always wanted to participate more in first chapters, he should not prevent others to do it...

It would be so much more boring if he was a solo king one-shots everyone while his comrades are being worthless needy foddders, in fact it was somewhat like that; but things are turning around, allience is also protecting him; he is not the only one who makes sacrifices and fights.
