It have been discuss in other forum, that Naruto is on the Buddhahood paths.

There's some link on Buddhism

It refer to 6 lowers realms ( the 6 paths of pain) for which it's pretty simple to make association since they have the same name and represente the temptation or the respone to external world

ten realms 6 lowers (as dicuss brievely above) and 4 highers realm:

Learning:Learning is a condition in which one seeks some skill, lasting truth or self-improvement through the teachings of others. To access this realm, the experiencer must first develop the desire to gain wisdom and insight into the true nature of all things, free from delusion

Realisation and absorbtion:Realization is a state in which one discovers a partial truth through one's own observations, efforts and concentration

Bodhisattvahood:aspires for personal enlightenment but also devotes oneself to relieving the sufferings of others through compassionate and truly altruistic actions, e.g. helping others

Budhahood:condition of pure, indestructible happiness which is not dependent on one's circumstances. The experiencer is totally free from all delusion, suffering and anger. It is a condition of perfect and absolute freedom, characterized by boundless wisdom, courage, compassion and life force. This realm is difficult to describe and is generally only obtained through the direct internal perception of the realm of realization

also talking about the ten characteristic of the budha

thus gone, thus come (Skt: tathāgata)
worthy one (Skt: arhat)
perfectly self-enlightened (Skt: samyak-saṃbuddha)
perfected in knowledge and conduct (Skt: vidyā-caraṇa-saṃpanna )
well gone (Skt: sugata)
unsurpassed (Skt: anuttara)
knower of the world (Skt: loka-vid)
leader of persons to be tamed (Skt: puruṣa-damya-sārathi)
teacher of the gods and humans (Skt: śāsta deva-manuṣyāṇaṃ)
the Blessed One or fortunate one (Skt: bhagavat)[6]

it's a bit raw and i'd like if anyone is interest and/or have a more encyclopedic knowledge of than me the help fullfill the theory i'm trying to make. Let's just hope it's not gonna a total spoiler

that's an interesting thought.....what pein says might also be linked to the buddhism: to find true peace one has to stop the cycle of hatred U_U it goes the same for inner peace: one has to stop allowing himself to get carried away by his feelings.....
While training for the sage mode, Naruto learns not to react to any stimuli but to remain perfect calm....that's pretty much like the buddhist meditation idea U_U
Also, the fact that naruto can only understand something through self experience it's linked to the kind of learning you mentioned....
Anyway, all those hits make the series more interesting. .....you don't suppose kishi is trying to convert us all to buddhism? ;;)
