This is not a bash by the way. I think the term ninja got confused with people who are strong. Thinking about it a ninja isn't just about being strong or just about being smart, I think there needs to be a combination of both. Think about some of the difficult assignments that other ninja's had to face. Itachi-he created this illusion and died on purpose for the village. Can anyone picture Naruto doin all the crap he did, the mass deception? I certainly can't. As much as I hate to admit it Itachi is a top 5 ninja as he can carry out difficult missions, gather intel, and fight. Being able to figure out enemy strengths and weaknessess is also important. (kakashi, Itachi. etc). Complex difficult missions such as infiltration spying is a lil out of naruto's expertise. He is a great fighter but many are better ninjas.
Is there any truth to this?

Ninja isn't compatible with MANY characters in this series. But that's a good thing, because making a Shounin out of what a ninja is definitively supposed to be is boring. The characters that most attribute to the dictionary definition of ninja are Shikamaru, the two Chunin that Naruto first fought in the Zabuza arc, and partly Kakashi.

Kishimoto isn't trying to make the ninja's in his world the same as usual ninja's irl.
For example
-Naruto wears orange jumpsuit which isn't stealthy at all.
-Flashy jutsu's like chidori is meant to be an assassination move.
-Walking on water

ect.

The best ninja is TenTen.No joke

Well, it would be possible but it would have to be far more serious and adult-oriented.

Normally I would agree. But two fights showed me that Naruto can utilize quite a bit of intelligence in battle.

The pain fight and the fight against the third raikage. Both fights have him using his intelligence more than just brute strength (for the majority of his battle, excluding his kyuubi tirade). Even his Kakuzu troll had him using his clones as a feint before dealing his blow. Naruto had knowledge on pain, but he had zilch on Kakuzu and third raikage.

He isn't a genius, but I'd say he's a fine shinobi.

tldr yes he is, he mastered Sage Mode, a think Jiraiya and Oro were unable to do.
This is what Im talking about. I agree that having some strength is needed but that isn't what makes you a ninja. I think the person that is qualified to complete any mission is the best ninja. Im not an Itachi fan boy but what he was asked to do was difficult on an emotional and physical level. Going sage mode doesn't make you a great ninja.

I would rather see him as a fuuton master with various techs instead of glowing like thousand suns; aren't ninjas suppose to be sneaky and that was what made them powerful? Now he is like "yes; i am glowing, you can see me and i will shoot a bijuudama in your face"

Kishimoto has given the definition of what a good shinobi truly is a few times, to be a great shinobi you have to endure, take hard decisions and never give up, those are the most important aspects of a shinobi in narutoverse.

Itachi is a great shinobi, but so is Naruto.

Naruto refrained from killing Nagato even after all he did, because he want to erradicate the circle of hate, not contribute to it, and he understood Nagato and how much he suffered.

That's a great quality of Naruto.

If this is true then Sakura is the best shinobi cuz she endures the neg rep. Lol

naruto is pretty good but I think he lacks the ability to complete high diff missions that are not just straight forward such as kill kakuzu or kill pain.

This is one of the few times I disagree with you. Naruto's transformations are superb and make him perfect for stealth missions. He's also great for scouting because of the clone knowledge trick. He's not as good at this as team 7 but he's better than team 11.
