kishi show's Naruto to be stupid so that his actions and accomplishments would seem more cooler and surprising..he is the underdog..and underdog can't be intelligent

although Naruto is not THAT dumb anymore..but it's more entertaining as the main character is someone with a mind like him

Why on earth would I be Kishi? Anything I say about the plot is my best understanding of what I think he's doing, I don't pretend any more. For all I know, he has a Naruto is stupid/smart coin he flips when he writes out Naruto's actions, lol.

Naruto's demeanor is comic re-leaf. When its time for battle Naruto is the best of the best. He can make duel plains after another plain is already executed. Also he can make use of the shadow clone technique. His tactics are around the level of Kakashi.

During the beginning of the series naruto was really a dumb ass!! he had little or no knowledge of the basic ninja skills, this is as a result of the fact that he was always busy pulling pranks around the village until he met with iruka. And after his twoand half training with jiriaya he became more realistic and indeed a bit smart .0naruto becomes more of a genius in the case scenerio where he his's fighting to save/protect his comrades. His will become the strongest ninja the world has ever known.

he is already really over-powered compared to others and imagine if he was a genius like sasuke AND worked his butt off, he would be miles ahead of everyone -_- then the series would be just naruto kicking everybody's asses with no sweat

Naruto was never the smartest guy, but when he is focused to something like in a fight he can do wonders we never thought he would do so.

who are you? i mean i never get you , you title states that you hate sasuke . but when at times like underlining the fact that Naruto at this moment is stronger , you get all deffensive about sasuke ?

I do not get you , you call naruto a soft **** , and yet he was allways satnding up to EVERY1 in the konoha .

ye Sasuke was tired , and yes Naruto was at full strength , but if Madara would not come , you would face an inevitable fact , Naruto would take Sasuke back to konoha .

at that State , even if his eyes were healed , Naruto was way more experienced with Sage mode than Sasuke , Sasuke overuses his sharingan .

that was his disadvantage , and kishimoto fixed it , by inventing this new thing the EMS , which no one knew was this vital . Nobody saw it coming .

The fight with Kakuzy , being a soft kock , he killed him without even thinking . OR at least he thought he killed him . Sasuke on the other hand with orochimaru DID not kill all those attackers . All of them were still alive

if you are trying to defend Sasuke , you fail . if you are trying to hate on Naruto you fail too , actually the manga now contradicts all the concept of Naruto being stupid .

Naruto's intelligent when(and where) he needs to be and dumb otherwise...sets him apart from sasuke...Naruto's kinda like Goku, brilliant in battle(gets it from daddy, I guess...) but his brain kinda slows down a great deal outside of battle...

Like my post Naruto is a Genius in his own way, but of course out of respect for Geniuses I assure you I won't say "Chouji" Is a Genius at losing weight ( Chuunin exams he dropped like what 100 lbs in less then a day pure genius lol jk )

He ain't book smart and doesn't have the smarts of a Neji, Sasuke, or Shikamaru.
He's more of a muscle memory type guy where he learns from physical movement instead of thinking beforehand.

While I'm one of the few who like the dumb Naruto, he promised to his mother that he'll change up his methods and be a more assertive Ninja. This most likely changing him from dumb to genius in an instant.

Its more than likely that Naruto's dumb comes from Kishi's inspiration - Goku!
But Naruto being dumb, makes Goku think like an Einstein.

Most shonen heroes aren't very intelligent. This way the reader can relate to them. If Naruto was also smart, he'd be a Mary Sue with no weaknesses. So he has to be a little stupid.

He is never going to have an over 200 IQ like Shikamaru. That guy is beyond even Madara. Nor will he be as intelligent as Sakura, Shino, Temari, or Gaara. But he is more intelligent than Lee, Kiba, and Choji. Kishi even gave him the same intelligence stat as Neji.
