Kishimoto already admitted that he used Dragonball as his inspiration, But I sometimes wonder if also used Harry Potter too. Be cause I see alot of similarities between Naruto And Harry Potter. Both of their parents died while they were babies. They both met their parents as sort of ghosts. Both had secrets hidden from them. Both had their godfathers die after only knowing them for a short period. Both had hard lives as children. both had prophecys about them. both have to deal with mad men looking to rule the world. I could probably keep this going, but I like Naruto more Jutsus are cooler than Magic and Ninja,s are cooler than Wizards. My point is who cares just enjoy the ride while it lasts.

orochimaru=frieza

toad sage=namek guru
etc......
But hey not anything is original really theyre different just influenced and made a different way.
'taking an idea from some/anything and developing it into a something else' unless its so distinct then its just copying but i never compared dbz to naruto coz in the end theyre still different.
its called progress

the ideas don't have to be exact and kishi stated dragonball was his main inspiration for his manga. were not calling it a ripoff, were saying that it's very similar(which it is). the story line, characters and many more things are completly original, but many things are copies of DB and were just simply pointing it out.:shrug:

anyone notice how goku(sasuke) had his entire species(clan) wiped out, then when he killed the person responsible, namely frieza(itachi) he gained one of his greatest weapons in the aftermath of the fight, namely super saiyan(mangekyou sharingan)

it would not be abl to burn a kamehameha lets say Goku shoots one at Itachi and he uses amatarasu it might catch on fire but even if it dose it would only be a small portion of it then Itachi would die in a huge explosionxd

if anyone reads kishi's interviews he often states that DB and DBZ is his core inspiration for the naruto series. and for the naruto powered up mode and super saiyan argument the truth is it is based of of super saiyan. the flames are supposed to be intense chakra around naruto radiating of him like flames just like how goku has his golden aura around him. and how naruto's hair stands up on end when he enters this mode is like how super saiyan is. and on a side not naruto's nine tails cloak is like gokus kaioken the more tails naruto uses the more his body deteriorates just like how goku cant go past a certain point with kaioken because his body cant withstand the raw power increase.

two this i forgot to mention is that both naruto and goku have a beast in side them that killed the people closes to them. for goku he turned into the oozaru and stopped grandpa gohan and for naruto the nine tailed fox kill both his parents (directly and indirectly). and how minato's thunder god jutsu was inspired by goku's instant transmision they both require some thing to mark where they are going for goku he needs and energy signature and for the forth he needs a kuni tag.
