Naruto as Hokage

We know from Chapter 700 that Naruto becomes the Hokage, but as far as our information reaches, he was still a Genin at that time. And that still doesn't make sense to me.
I already felt that it would have made sense to just promote him to Chuunin after his part in rescuing Gaara and defeating Pain, but there is no way they wouldn't have promoted him (maybe even immediately to Jounin) after the events of the Fourth Shinobi War.
Does this strike anyone else as irritating and illogical?

Genin, Chunin? There is no rank for Naruto and Sasuke as they are now. Perhaps demi-god. They are litellary half a tier under Kaguya power wise, they can 2 shot any of the NV highest ranks (Kage-Sage)

So putting these 2 in a context of the usuall ranks is hillarius right now.

Ranks are for mission assignments. Realistically, once someone's proven themselves in a war, shouldn't that suffice?

Not to mention, as Hokage, he won't be completing missions, he'll be assigning them.

Meh...as long as he became hokage in the end, the ranks in-between are meaningless to me. He was saving the world while the kages, chunins, and jounins were sitting up in the IT. Rank ain't shit.

It was understood he'd go straight to hokage so why bother with those other ranks? And who'd face him in a one-on-one in the chunin exams?

Nah son, I actually love the idea of the 2 most powerful ninja being lowly genins. Love the irony.

A Field promotion is basically the advancement of an enlisted man in rank on the field of battle up to the rank of Sgt. A Field Commission is the advancement to the rank of officer. These promotions are given on the field for outstanding leadership and valor and because of the circumstances bypass the usual promotional boards and tests. Do you not think that a military based society such as that of NV wouldn't have such promotions? Naruto repeatedly proved himself on the battlefield by both actively leading and inspiring the Ninja Army. Taking a Chunin or Jonin exam is now entirely a moot point as he has already passed the requirements for such tests where it counts, on the battlefield.

No, it doesn't. Naruto being at Kage-tier doesn't mean that he can become one immediately. Being Hokage doesn't required just being the strongest. Hokages alsp have to take care of responsibilities involving political and infrastructural matters of the village. Given the situation Konoha was in at the time, Naruto has no way of handling those situations. Only someone like Kakashi, Tsunade, Or Danzo can take on those kind of matters. Shikamaru was planning to be Naruto's advisor because of this.

About Chunin Exams: Yeah, there is actually no need for Naruto to go through that. Nothing ever suggests that you can only pass through ranks chronologically. Naruto failed the clone examination three times. Yet he killed his losing streak when he used Multiple Shadow Clones on front of Iruka and Mizuki. I don't know why shluld this.be any different.

He is still a genin in the last while Sakura is a jounin
