I know I can be bias at times but I'm going to be objective as possible..
Naruto
I feel like he's been getting the short end of the stick throughout Gadien and the Boruto movie. In Gadien he was called rusty. No matter if the 'rust' pertain to battle sense,tactics or physical strength, he was still called rusty and didn't do much to prove he wasn't.
In the movie Naruto is show in a better spotlight but is still lacking at moments.. One of the first thing that strikes me with Naruto in the movie is that he is said to be exhausted from having three or four clones running around, helping him do his job. The problem with that is Naruto(from the manga) can make a thousand clones without breaking a sweat, now three or four is to many for him to concentrate on without a clone having a surprise "poof"? If that rusty what is? Yes I know Naruto made a couple hundred clones in Gadien but something still isn't right..
So now we go to the Clip where Naruto is protecting people from Momoshiki giant TSB. I notice that both Naruto and Kurama had to put there hands together to get in sync/build chakra to summon Kruama's Avatar, which also seem like another sign of rust. Before all that happen he was sent through a wall by a simple kick, why? More rust is my guess.. After he summon the avatar, what he did next was very impressive by but wrapping his chakra around the orb and maintain the explosion.. BUT he was captured right after.
After being capture he was hanging there with no fight left... Literally waiting to be saved! That's like the complete opposite of what Naruto would do..
The fight starts. Naruto power up to RSM and Match by Sasuke every step of the way. In speed, strength, and taijutsu.. That could be more rust or Sasuke's growth, I'll let you all decide. During one of there combo attacks, Naruto falls and get stuck in some rocks.. All by himself... More rust?? Then Momo pancakes him there and he uses the avatar to escape.. After Sasuke's injury, Naruto goes ham!! Thinking this is what I'm use to from him... Which was great to watch.. And with Sasuke help he ended the fight in seconds..
Momo is revived, and instantly shut down Naruto and co.. I believe Naruto was hit with the shadow possession and chakra rods, he looks as if he had nothing left and didn't even attempt to break out. Rust??
I've read comments before posting Sasuke part so for give me for being more aggressive.
Sasuke
In Gadien, right from the start Sasuke notice or heard something, proving his battle senses are still intact.. But that's kind to be expected after being on a mission for ten years. Ambushed by shin an we see his improvement through one hand sighs.. Only a handful of shinobi accomplished that.
His battle with adult shin, Sasuke loos like he was 'rusty' by being stab without using something to save Sadara other than his body.. Later we find out that's not the case, weakened.. Due to dimension swapping back and forth to Kaguya's dimensions.
We first see Sasuke in battle with Kinshiki. He was clearly out match in physical strength, but made up for it with speed and Ameno.. Was he weaken from the swap??
We see Sasuke join the fight at the arena in the nick of time to save his Daughter from falling rocks.. Right after he was about to be attacked by kinshiki before being Saved by shikamaru. He later assist naruto in a defense against the giant TSB, but Naruto tells him to get Boruto to safety.
Later Sasuke portals the kages and Boruto to the dimension to save Naruto.. He gets engaged into a sword fight with kinshiki, using his chakra sword infuse with Enton and chidori(maybe) that leads to kinshiki capture after Saauke broke his weapon.
Now sasuke and Naruto is engage with a fusion of kinshiki and Momoshiki. Sasukeis matching RSM Narito in speed,strength and taijutsu.. All of this is after being weaken by portal jumping.
During one the combos sasuke was wrapped in chains, giving momo time to recover.. Sasuke was later trapped in cement, using chodori nagashi to break free right before being hit with a chakra hammer, knocking Sasuke into the air. Followed up by a fire style jutsu in case with rocks that burn Sasuke face left him falling in pain because Rib susanoo wasn't strong enough to protect him.
Sasuke recovers with the help of Naruto and Kyuubi's chakra within seconds, activates ultimate Susanoo and assist with putting down Momoshiki.
Momo is revived moments later and puts everyone down save Sasuke. Momo Makes a huge explosion, and Sasuke saves boruto and himself from it. Sasuke then came up with a plan to save everyone from momo's shadow possession.
Sasuke then comes up with another plan to finish mono with the help of boruto. Sasuke plays the role as deversion allowing Boruto to get In close to dismantle the rinnegan and deliver the finishing blow with a giant resengan aided by Naruto's chakra..
