Also, they do show Naruto Shippuden on Disney XD, so by the time they get to where we are in the Manga, any 8-10 year old will be in highschool or college. So 8-10 sounds about right for Shippuden...now for part 1 I would say about 5 so they can get to the good shit before they hit their 30's lol

Hah, yeah I was talking about the anime on tv, and I may have over exaggerated lol

I know I've been following the series for a good 5-6 years now..

I'd say 10-12 for part 1 and 12+ for Shippuden, but I'm unsure.

The violence in part 1 isn't so bad, and the general friendship theme is very preteen friendly.

Part 2 however is different - I wouldn't want my 10-year-old watching the Kakuzu and Hidan arc for example.

The series isn't that deep and there aren't a whole lot of rules that need to be kept up with. I think 9 is pretty good. Now do I think part 2 is appropriate for a 9 year old..idk They can really understand it though.

On all my Naruto AND Shippuden DVDs, they all say 12+. So, I'm guessing that's that. ><;;

I think that actually depends on the person. I mean I was watching horror movies rated 16+ when I was six or seven and I didn't have any problems with it. In fact I have always ignored the ratings. If I found it too scary I just stopped watching *shrugs*
So, I say, that when it interests the kid, he or she should watch it, regardless of his or her age.
And I find the violence in both parts not so bad. But that's my opinion ^^;
