Part 1 was kid friendly, part 2 is where it got extremely dark.

I agree though some series are really ****ed up for younger audience ( just let's take Berserk as an example ) and then you have Tokyo Ghoul who seems to have a younger fanbase despite being a Seinen.

Franken Fran was pretty good Seinen and though pretty simple it was disturbing.

You do realize in japan teens/adults read manga and watch anime? It's widely known that teens/adults watch particular anime in other countries, as well.

So realistically speaking, it isn't necessarily JUST for kids...just CHILD APPROPRIATE.

However, boruto is a little too childish to watch, at times.

People of older crowds are "Distinct"(while some are just childish)...has everything to do with the "type" of anime. If it's action, well, people wanna see ACTION or a good plot development. People want quality, especially if they grew up watching anime. I will say, I don't have patience for a lot of anime...I'll watch DBS and some canon episodes of Boruto, but that's about it, for now.

You've got 16 year old's going on 17. 17 year old's going on 21. Then you've got 21 years old acting like 12 year old's. Ultimately it is a cartoon aimed at a teenage audience (12 upwards). Doesn't mean adults can't enjoy it though.

Your point is invalid. Naruto aired on Cartoon Network during the Toonami block which was geared toward teenagers and young adults. This was pre-adult swim mind you. Fortunately I’m old enough to remember the good old days of Toonami. Most certainly not for kids, considering Naruto began airing on Cartoon Network almost 15 years ago, and when it did it occupied a 10:30/11:00 PM timeslot. As a 13 year old in 2005, that was a show I watched with the sound turned off after my parents had gone to bed because it was considered “too violent” back then.

Nevermind the fact Toonami/Adult Swim are/were considered distinct networks from Cartoon Network.

/facepalm

It was rated as TV-PG-DSV on CN and TV-PG on adult swim. Even the hour the show started was cattered for a more mature audience. Fail after fail after fail..

Exactly! Even Disney dropped Shippuden before the Pain arc due to the direction the anime was taking. Racism, genocide, terrorism, corrupt government, hatred, and war. Even in part 1 Naruto presented ideas that are not black and white..

Every anime is for kids.

lol not all anime are for kids. Shinsekai Yori and Noein are psychological anime off the top of my head that most definitely aren't aimed at kids.

In Shinsekai (My fav all time anime), Its implied two of the characters i was getting to like (Male and Female) were victims of Rape by Proxy then killed because of the potential their offspring held and none of the other main cast realized it until years later.. Painful stuff definitely not aimed at kids. While in Noein, there were countless Quantum physics references.. Definitely not for kids.
