If this was one page with only Minato talking to Naruto, I would love it. I can't see how it's disappointing. No major fight has not had plenty of flashbacks and conversations (Sasuke/Itachi and Jiraiya/Pein). I hope Minato tells him his past or who to talk to, or that there is a place like the Uchiha hideout. I never expected that Minato himself would appear.
Also, I suppose we can be pretty sure Itachi's gift has nothing to do with the Kyuubi if Naruto was about to go 9 tails.
