Narda was falling, but not towards the lava:
The mere fact that Naruto was there, saved Sasuke's life. Had Nardo not been in that specific spot, he would have died. On the other Nardo eventually would have fallen in the lava, but it wouldn't have been anytime soon. Look how far above the lava, and look at the angle he's flipping. It basically looks like he's flipping parallel with the horizon.
Essentially, one could argue that they saved each other. In this scenario, the Nardo fanboys are correct, he did save Sasuke; even if it was just his presence. The Sasuke fanboys could claim that he saved Naruto, but hardly. Naruto wasn't hitting the lava nearly as fast as Sasuke. The difference in their rate of falling is probably equal to that of a boulder and a feather.
