Very intelligent and clever clansmen. But I digress. We'll start your training off like any other training. Explain to me the Nara clan in detail? Everything you know and even things you question. for you, Nara - will be the new clansmen and you'll have to know how to use this unique ability to the best of your means.

The Nara clan are, as you said, are known as the smartest of the village. They have the unique ability to control their own shadows, using chakra I would presume. Utilizing our shadows is the way we combat, combining our shadows with our opponents to bind them, using shape manipulation to make our shadows take on various forms. Clones of ourselves, arms, and sort of stitches. Nara clan users also use various ninja tools, like the exploding tag, but most importantly the flash bomb. The flash bomb if used right can extend the size of our shadow, which increases the range and size of our shadow. Since the shadow manipulation is limited by the size of our shadow. The shadows have a complcated relationship with light and darkness. A couple questions
1. Do the shadows work at night? Like, if you were covered in darkness, can you manipulate that to.
2. Can our shadows be stopped if an object comes in our path?

Shadows cannot be used at night unless light in available. Strong enough moon light, fires, etc. That is the downfall essentially is the lack of light that could be taken place. Also, to your second question. It really depends. If a rock just falls in the path of the shadow then it could go over it or around but if a large rock falls smack int he middle of the oncoming shadow then it would stop and begin at that point.

Well, anyways good work. Let's begin with the bare basics of shadow manipulation. The way it works is a secret technique to fuse your chakra with your own shadow. Releasing the chakra from your feet and into your shadow is the true secret all Nara carry from youth. I would like you to give it a try and once you feel it's done then move your shadow by manipulating the chakra within - forward just a bit to see if you got it.

Thats the secret O-o So basically, anybody could use it? In theory of course

~To test this out, Stein takes chakra from his body and sends it into his feet. He then releases chakra from his feet into it, the chakra filling up his shadow. Having felt that the amount of chakra would surely suffic enough for him to try to control the power of the Nara shadow control. He uses his chakra present within the shadow to manipulate the shape of it, stretching a small part of his shadow to his limit, which as it stands now is only a couple feet.~

With time, I could definitely "stretch" out its power

Well, no. You see, it's a secret chakra manipulation that only we Nara know. don't you know? As a child your parents explained the secret and that's why you're able to do it. *wink *wink

But anyways, good work! They say the shadow is just as part of a human like a heart or brain. When we connect out shadows and control them we control their very being since their shadow is essentially themselves! Now, capturing another shadow can prove difficult and once connected, depending on the targets power they could break from it though not instantly. So, do what you did before and connect with my shadow. Once connected, make me move my arm by you moving yours - like a mime or mirror.

Interesting. I might have to dissect you to see just wonders are at work...

~Stein takes a deep breath and tries to control his peaking interest, and a desire to dissect something. Stein performs the ram handseal (I think we have to do this with every technique, no?) and then proceeds to, after sending his chakra from his feet into the shadow once again, using the chakra present within the shadow to start stretching it out, until it reaches to where your shadow is, and "connects" both of our shadows. I then proceed to simply raise my arm, but because of the fact that our shadows are connected, your shadow mimicks the movement of my shadow, and your shadow makes you move your arm so that your shadow can mimick my shadow~ Thats what I think happens anyway. (._. )

Hmmm, lets see how much I can do with this now
~I start fingering around inside my ninja puch, which makes you do the same. I do this until you have a flash bomb and I have just a normal kunai. I then open my hand, allowing my kunai to fall on the ground, and your flash bomb to fall on the ground. Because the flash bomb explodes in front of you it blinds you. I close my eyes to avoid the effects of the blinding flash~

Alternative

~I reach into my ninja pouch, and you mimick me, I pull out an explosive kunai and you pull out a regular one. I throw my explosive one at your feet, and you throw your regular one at mines. My explsove kunai explodes on you, while your regular one does nothing~

Ahh. You made a bad choice. Let me explain.

Sensei breaks the shadow and pulls out a flash bomb in her hand.

A flash bomb is a source of fast and extreme light. You cause it to explode and it will break the shadows due to all the light. However, a flash bomb can be a great resource as well. For instance, throw the flash bomb behind you, it explodes just behind you which doesnt blind you but it does blind the target and on top of that it causes your shadow to move at near speed of light speeds if you use it at the right moment. Understand? try it out.

Hmm. I see where I made a mistake
~Stein, hearing this new possibly revolutionary info, he pulls out a flash bomb and throws it behind him. It explodes and emits a blinding light. The light from the bomb increases the size his shadow. He forms the ram handseald and then attemps to stretch his shadow again. This time his shadow moves at least twice as fast as last time~
Just as predicted...

Ya, so use it well and cleverly.

I want you to take these special kunai.

Sensei hands you the kunai!

Infuse your shadow into the kunai and throw them at the targets shadow to trap them just by that. If you use these kunai cleverly and quickly, you can throw a target off guard and get them trapped for a quick attack.

I dont see whats so special about what appears to be a plain kunai...
~I take those kunai and as instructed, fuse them with my shadow style chakra. I throw it directly at your shadow clone's shadow, and once it connects, traps him by binding his shadow. Now he cant move and is open for an attack~

~I take those special kunai again, after you hand them back to me. I infuse the kunai with my shadow style chakra, giving it the ability to trap shadows. I then throw the kunai directly at the clones shadow. It sticks into the shadow and binds his shadow, stopping him from any possible movement~
Im not sure how to make it more discriptive ( ._.)

Listen, that was better but let me give you an example on a perfect answer.

"I listen carefully to my sensei's instructions. I start by holding onto these special Nara clan kunais. Ability to hold our shadow? We'll see. First, I connect my chakra to my shadow by usual means of shadow manipulation, I then proceed to literally take a part of my shadow and chakra and fuse it within the kunai. The kunai takes a blackish color until he returns to a normal looking kunai - effectively fusing my shadow chakra. Staring at the clone and more so at his shadow, I swing my arm forward with aa flick of my wrist and a hint of quick aiming. The kunai strikes the clones shadow in the middle, at that time my shadow chakra infusing with his shadow with my shadow'd kunai. This restricts his movement like shadow stitching but with less strength meaning he could break with with less resistance."

This time... I must get it right!

~Stein starts off by performing the ram handseals, and focuses chakra in his shadow and streches it, just like normal. Once the shadow reaches the targets and binds him though, Stein takes this a step further and causes the shadows to rise up, much like the shadow stitching jutsu, and wrap around him. The shadows holds his body close together, and allows for no movement at all, he cant even talk now~

I think I might've gotten the hang of it...

Anywho, I want you to attach the shadows then make the shadow create tendrils to rise up around the target and stab him in various locations, damaging and binding the target with a more aggressive approach. If you recall, Shikamaru preformed this technique on Hidan during their first encounter.
