most attacks would fail because of preta path. their only hope is genjutsu, but rinnegan senses chakra, meaning he should be able to realise hes in one and then kai out of it. tsukiyomi wont work because nagato has lived with itachi for years and would know how to counter him.

I believe Madara & Itachi could solo Nagato

Yup I agree with this..
EMS Madara, Sasuke and MS Itachi all can solo Nagato.
Itachi might have harder time though(his eye power is not that impressive as he suffers a lot after using MS)
If they all were to team up, then Nagato is done for..
