Let's say instead of Deidara/Sasori, Nagato's Six Paths of Pein and Konan were sent to retrieve the 1-tails.

Would Team Kakashi, Team Guy, and Sungakure defeat Pein?

stop rightr there are u trying to say gaara can stand up to pains 6 paths or just nagato. let me remind you nagato can absorb any jutsu regardless of form or nature transformation so he will do to gaaras sand like what he did to jiraiyas massive rasengan just remember that.
kakashi took out an entire village along with all its jonin chunin and elite anbu .
wth do you think one shinobi who can control sand cAn do against a superior village nothing pain destroys the sand takes gaara and kills him all over again
