The Rinnegan is an advanced version of Madara's dojutsu but given to Nagato. Madara's most powerful ability is the Perfect Susano I believe. Well that's no problem for Nagato. Susano itself is made up of chakra. One of the powers of Rinnegan is the ability to absorb anything chakra-based, which means Nagato with or without paths he can take this mid-high diff.
