And Preta path cant absorb it

For Taijutsu Preta path cant absorb this either
Gates would be a huge problem for a person will just the rinnegan

The rinnegan user not only will not be able to see the target, but they wouldnt be able to react that fast

Shinra tensei is a temporary solution, but after the 1st use of it the interval begins
And someone in gates from what we seened can easily catch the user of shinra tensei during the interval

If it was Gai and Nagato
Gai's with taijutsu chances of winning is about 75%

Itachi chances are about 85%

Linked vision. Genjutsu would only affect the target who looked at Itachi's eyes. The other paths/summons can wont be affected.

Also I don't see Guy defeating him. Linked vision and assura path would negate most tai jutsu and all of deva paths abilities would stop Guy easily, banshou tennin and then stab him with a chakra rod.

i guess people forgot how strong nagato is. and giving gai and itachi that chances to win it's just pure underestimation. a shinra tensei was able to send 3 giant frogs fly away like nothing and they were unable to move because ther body was too damaged, now imagine gai or itachi getting a shinra tensei even stronger then that. banshou tein and giant rock to the face, 9 boss summons if he catches gai there goes his soul, and CT is a bit too much, and nagato is a sensor, if he knew when itachi was going to use amaterasu then hw will also know when itachi is going to use tsukuyomi or any kind of genjutsu

First question I guess is are we talking about them fighting Nagato or them fighting Pain? Those are two completely different fights. If either is fighting Pain then it is game over for Guy, for Itachi I think he could hold his own but he would be pushed so hard he might go blind after the fight.

If we are talking about Nagato then I could see Itachi giving him a run for his money and if they fought 10 times Itachi might win half of them but to say that he would dominate or that Nagato would not have a chance is going a bit far.

Guy would last longer against Nagato but I still think Guy gets owned in the end.

You're high , gai cannot hit him because of shinra tensai. Ultimate shinra tensai kills gai, itachi lives because of susano but can be killed with chibaku tensai. He can fight them at the Same time and win with mid difficulty. Itachi's genjutsu wasn't used when he fought nagato, he has used it in ever other fight, meaning maybe he can't because of the rinnegan I superior th ms. Itachi's genjutsu was broken by a 3 tomo sharringan and rinnegan is 3 levels above that
