Go look at that scan again. Liger Bomb cracked his Susanoo, and then the Lateral Chop broke through, and Lol @ the bold. Makes no sense. If the damage piles up, then it's Liger Bomb+Lateral Chop that broke through, not just Lateral Chop.

I can agree on this point but at the same time, don't you think Sasuke had the black flames cover his Ribcage since he knew his defense could be breached? I mean, he was already protected so why then cover himself with the flames.

Yeah, he knew that it could be breached, that's why he covered himself with the flames, but his Susanoo had already taken damage from Liger Bomb, so that makes it easier for Lateral Chop to break through.
