Gohan's far above SSJ3 Goku. Remember how Goku said Gotenks took SSJ3 to a level above his? He was struggling against Super Buu, whom Gohan crushed. Also, even with SSJ3 Gotenk's Power, he wasn't completely obliterating Gohan. He was clearly stronger, but it wasn't as big as the difference between Gohan and Super Buu.


Also, if this is alive SSJ3 Goku, then it's even more of a stomp since Goku's living body couldn't handle SSJ3's full power.

Depends on the time frame. If it's when Goku was still getting used to SSJ3 transformation and Gohan was freshly juiced by Elder Kai, then Gohan would win.

But if it's end of Z, 5 years after Buu's defeat or during Battle of Gods timeline, my money is on Goku. Goku spent that entire time training and no doubt pushed his SSJ3 form and became much better and stronger with it while Gohan became a nerd and gave up training in favor of a 9-5 and a family. What's more, Goku is naturally a better fighter with better instincts and drive. That holds real clout in any fight.

Nope. Super Buu is significantly stronger than Kid Buu. The kid Buu and Majin Buu fights do not qualify as capability to fight Super Buu. To put it simply, Super Buu is like the fused form of both Kid and Majin Buu. That makes Super Buu almost twice as strong as SSJ3 Goku. Meanwhile, Gohan stomped that. No, Goku's SSJ3 form was never stronger near the end. He couldn't go 100% like he could as a ghost.
