Kaeruzan twisted his walking stick and it separated in two parts. He removed the upper part to show Naruto a short blade that he kept hidden inside his staff. He got into a strange fighting stance, holding the blade next to his eyes.
Kaeruzan: *smiling* Get ready kid...
Naruto: *holding his sword up* I'm ready.
Kaeruzan dashed at Naruto with an impressive speed for a toad at his age, and started swinging his sword at every part of Naruto's body. Naruto just kept blocking his master's sword and dodging it.
Kaeruzan:*while attacking* Come on kid, try to antecipate the place where I'll cut you! We won't leave this place until you use that sword as if it were your own arm.
Naruto kept blocking the toad's attacks quickly. The two fighters jumped from rock to rock clashing swords with each other. Naruto couldn't take his eyes off his master's small blade, if he failed to block one single attack he would be badly injured. Or even killed.
Kaeruzan:*swinging sword at Naruto's head* Good work kid your getting better at this!
The sound of swords clashing echoed through the valley, the sound of a battle. The two blades were constantly colliding, shining with the sun's light. Naruto and Kaeruzan were sweating and fought until darkness began to cover the sky, the fight had become almost equal between them. Suddenly when Naruto swung his sword at his master, Kaeruzan disappeared and reappeared behind him.
Naruto:*to himself* When did he...?
Kaeruzan:*hiding his sword back* That's enough kid. I can't teach any more. The rest comes only with time and experience. Let's go inside and have something to eat.
Naruto:*happily* Great! I'm starving...
Kaeruzan: We'll train some more tomorrow.
Naruto and the toad headed back to the caban to eat and rest. The day after Naruto prepared himself for another training session and ran outside, to the same place were he and his master had fought the other days. Kaeruzan was already there as always, waiting quietly for his pupil, sitting on a large rock, his walking stick on his lap.
Kaeruzan: Good... you're here. Today, we're gonna work on drawing natural chakra from the Nature around us using our weapons. This is the first step for the Seishitsu-Buki.
Naruto:*amazed* Whoa... What do I have to do?
Kaeruzan: I'll show you how I do it.
The toad jumped from the rock where he sat and held the staff in front of him. He closed his eyes in silence.
Kaeruzan:*opening eyes* Seishitsu-Buki!
Kaeruzan jumped in the air and smashed a large rock to pieces with his staff just like the day when he and Naruto had first met.
Naruto:*impressed* Whoa... How do I do it?!
Kaeruzan: You must imagine your weapon not as a tool, but as a part of your body. Try to imagine you're a tree, and that katana is just a branch that comes out, a part of your body. That is the key to begin gathering the natural energy.
Naruto:*confused* Ok, I'll try...
Naruto closed his eyes and did as Kaeruzan said. He saw himself as a tree and tried to ignore the sword's feeling, its weight, ?It's just a branch...? he thought. Kaeruzan looked at him attentively.
Kaeruzan:*jumping onto a rock* Keep doing that. I'll tell you when I sense any natural energy filling the sword.
The day passed quickly, and the sky began to lose its light. Kaeruzan hadn't noticed a single bit of Natural energy in Naruto's sword. He jumped from his rock and went to Naruto, who looked disappointed and sad.
Kaeruzan:*putting his hand on Naruto's shoulder* Come on kid, you'll give it another try tomorrow...
Naruto:*looking at the floor* It's the fox isn't it?
Kaeruzan: What fox? What are you talking about?
Naruto: The Nine-Tails inside me... Is it the reason why I can't do it?
Kaeruzan:*to himself* A Jinchuuriki...!? The Nine-Tails...!? If in fact he has a Bijuu that could be a problem to perform Seishitsu-Buki... *to Naruto* Come on kid let's go home. You'll give it another try tomorrow.
The fact that the toad had not answered made him feel even worse...
Naruto and Kaeruzan went home, but as soon as Naruto entered the caban he went to his room and lied on his bed, refusing the toad's offers of food. He lied on the bed and cried. This monster he had inside of him. ?Why me??, he thought... The fox had made the people of Konoha hate him, it had made him hurt his friends. He closed his eyes and tried to sleep.
Naruto woke up in the same dark sewer where he had been so many times. The water was covering his feet and the weak light in the tunnel was enough to let him see the path in front of him. He followed the tunnel until he reached a large room, with a giant cage at the end. It had a huge sign saying "Seal". It was all very familiar to him, the same place where he had been countless times.
Naruto looked closely. There was something different from before. In front of the cage was the the sillhouette of a toad. With a katana on his back...
Who is this mysterious toad? Will the Kyuubi stand once again in the way of Naruto's training?
