My suggestion, as sent to CC2:
Read it, tell me what you think.
Alright, my suggestion is a big one!
-Jutsu Clashes
This needs to be re-implemented into Storm 3, but in a different way. Personally, the Ultimate Ninja Storm series is my favorite online game. In fact, it's one of the only games I play online. I can admit, the Jutsu clash from Storm 1 would slow down the amazing fast paced battles and be a total buzz kill. So instead, speed it up and add elements from the anime. Instead of needing to do a series of button commands or mashing, take the jutsu's element into consideration and work from there. For example; Sasuke uses Fire Ball Jutsu against Suigetsu, Suigetsu counters with a Water Dragon, a small cut-scene could show the two jutsu clash and the fire ball inevitably put out. It would be fast enough to dazzle and the play of Sasuke could still dodge, although it would be extremely difficult depending on the range between the two players.
That works fine for projectile jutsu, but as far as close-range jutsu go, that wouldn't really work. Like the classic, Rasengan vs Chidori. This should work in a more visually pleasing way. Naruto uses Rasengan and Sasuke gets ready to use Chidori. As they dash at one-another, the camera will pan around the field, showing them getting closer as they player inserts a series of button commands. Who ever finishes first will be the victor. Simple as that, no slowing down or button mashing and the action stays just as fast.
Now comes the combo jutsu, like Hidan's. If both players have combo jutsu, like say Hidan vs Neji (While not a combo, it's still does about the same damage and multiple hits). This is where button mashing should be implemented. I'm sure I don't have to explain.
As for things like, ranged-jutsu vs close or combo vs close; it should be clear. Range>Close>Combo.
-Story mode, as I call it, "Hero Mode"
A while back, you guys made a game on the PSP called, "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact!" Although a good, solid game, I believe that it ended up being a bust. At least in America. Well, now is the time for redemption! I'm assuming that Ultimate Ninja 3 will involve the Shinobi War at least up to the Kage vs Perfect Susanno Madara and with that in mind, some character will fight LOTS of Zetsu. So, add a clever lock-on system and make stages big enough for us to wild in.
Also and a new kind of jutsu. You have your normal Jutsu, and Ultimate Jutsu, sure, but who wants to Kirin a single Zetsu? How about, for Hero Mode and another mode I will talk about later, Hero Jutsu? It will be less catastrophic then an ultimate jutsu, but can deal large damage to many enemies at once in real-time. Simply return to your roots and have Triangle-Circle be the normal Jutsu, Triangle-Triangle-Circle be your Hero Jutsu (In Hero Mode). Then in one-on-ones Triangle-Triangle Circle will be Ultimate Jutsu. Naruto's could be RasenShuriken for both, but in Hero Mode it would have an area of effect where-as in one-on-one it would be a cut-scene as usual.
The return of giant epic boss battles is awesome; no improvement needed there.
-Endless Mode
Remember when I talked about another mode? Here it is, Endless mode! Done Solo, offline co-op/ versus or Online/ Versus. After selecting a character and one of the Hero Mode large map venues, the player would began an endless battle again a steadly stronger army of white Zetsu and a occasional Edo Tensai Soldier like Zabuza/ Haku or Dan or... I don't know, Muu.
If they get lonely they have the option of co-op or versus two-player! In co-op, they will work together with a partner to get the highest score they can. In versus, they will be able to harm each other and battle for the highest score.
Not only would this be new and fun but it could add a totally different demographic to the online community.
-Replay Options
Remember that time you went ranked online and but that Deidara spammer with perfect health? Wanna show it off on youtube? Let the fans do that! Allow replays of battles done in ranked (Take away health/chakra bars along with the gamertags/PSN id if need be). Also allow fans to pan the camera around to watch the battle at a different angle, or even a first person perspective of either character!
-Four-Players!?
Yes. Teams. This does not mean four people on the field at once, it means that if in a tag battle, in stead of having support characters, the player would have an actual partner they could switch with. Creating fun two vs two battles. Allow the switching to happen in real time and mid-combo to create deep and more strategy based gameplay.
Team Jutsu, Hero Jutsu, and Ultimate Jutsu.
This could be used in any more; in single player, where the two support character rule is still implied, Sasuke inputs Triangle-Cirlce to initiate his fireball, another Triangle calls out Suigetsu and they launch a consecutive Fire-Water Dragon Jutsu, or, if your really wanting to impress fans, the two jutsu would combine completely and form something like, "Hot Steam Style: Dragon Bullet."
Fans will love you for this and it only makes gameplay more fun. Imagine having Sasuke and Naruto on the same team, chargin' Naruto's Rasengan and then calling out Sasuke to do Chidori along side you making some kind of... Rasen...dori... Yeah!
Ultimate Jutsu. This is where it gets more epic, but there are a lot less combinations. We want epic, over the top Ultimate Ninja 3 style Jutsu, right here. We want a team Hashirama and Madara declaring epic pwn on who ever faces them. It would be a bit difficult to trigger and instantly end a battle if pulled off right and only possible in one-on-ones. At the beginning of every battle where the player has a certain combination of characters (i.e. Naruto:Sasuke Suigetsu:Juugo Kakashi:Minato etc.) should have a special item called a team Kunai. Kakashi would have use his Raikiri, call out Minato mid-sprint who instead of using Rasengan would throw the team Kunai. Kakashi would stop once it was thrown and if it hit the jutsu would begin. If it missed, they aren't getting one that fight.
-Classic Mode.
I've played every Ultimate Ninja ever released and I've loved them, how about a classic, one-on-one side scrolling mode? Perhaps this could be DLC but this should be obvious... People will love it.
-Characters.
No more support only! Having Darui as support in Generations was such a TEASE! If Karin can be made playable, you guys can dream up something for Darui and Cee. I'm going to assume the story would stop after the Kage vs Madara battle. With this in mind, characters such as Muu, Madara, Dragon Sage Mode Kabuto, EMS Sasuke and Bijuu Mode Naruto should be a no-brainer, but how about you guys blow us away and add an alternate tier for Kakashi called "Executioner Blade Kakashi"? You know, use the anime/ manga's every suggestion.
-One more mode.
Ninja on the Battle Field Mode. In this mode, characters would be thrown into a character-creation screen where they can create a character, pick a voice, gender, skin color, and fighting style(Brawler like Lee/ Striker like Sasuke/ Pupper Master Like Kankuro Etc.) select a village, chakra natures and pick from the existing normal Jutsu and a few original jutsu developed by you guys! Same applies for Ultimate and Hero Jutsu. Once complete, the character will be thrown into a story mode that consists of three chapters.
First Chapter, a Jonin (Shizune:Leaf Baki:Sand Aoi:Mist Darui/Cee:Cloud or Kurotsuchi:Rock) from the characters village will test their strength before their squad is set out to the war. In this one-on-one battle the player will be equip with merely two normal Jutsu and a combo moveset composed up of original ideas depending on the characters fighting style.
Second Chapter. A Hero Mode type battle. A large map, the player's character and the support of one of the Biju Mode Naruto Clones. The Player, once a certain score is achieved will learn their Hero Jutsu and that, once used will trigger the end of the chapter.
The Final Chapter. Obviously, this isn't cannon. So the character will continue onward along side Naruto and find Tobi, who is accompanied by Dragon Sage Kabuto. A two-vs-two battle will commence where the player can switch freely between Naruto and their character in an extremely difficult battle against the two. After the battle, Tobi will beg for his life after Naruto delivers a fatal blow. Tobi will look at the player and throw out some dialogue like, "You! You look like you want peace! True Peace! Help me!" The player will then choose between Tobi or Naruto.
If the player chooses Naruto, Tobi will be defeated and the plot ends unlocking a custom Ultimate Jutsu for the character. It the player chooses Tobi, you turn on Naruto and strike him down. Tobi then laughs, extracts Kurama and Moon Eye Plans things up. This also ends the plot but instead of getting a Ultimate Jutsu, the player will unlock an Akatsuki Robe attire for their character and a second Story Mode for their character. It's the same as the normal one, but instead of meeting Naruto on the battle field, they will encounter Eternal Mangekyo Sasuke and go on to find The Five Kage after their fight with Madara. This story will be much more difficult then Naruto's and will also end with a choice. If they pick to keep helping Sasuke they will be rewarded the Sharingan and two unique Normal Jutsu to go with it and a final Sharingan Based Ultimate Jutsu. If they help the Kage, they will be rewarded with a Kage outfit attire for whatever village they picked for their character and two original normal Jutsu for their character along with a final Ultimate Jutsu that is much more, "Heroic" or "Good-guy" then the others.
The trick here is that both stories only give out a reward once. If they do the first story and help Naruto. That's were it ends. They can do the story again, but they can't get the Akatsuki Robe or other story no longer. Same goes for the other story. This would make for a more diverse online play. No character could have the Sharingan and a Kage Attire. No one could use the Kage Normal Jutsu and have the Sharingan Ultimate Jutsu.
Not only will this make all your fans need new pairs of pants, but this would make them all willing to get any future DLC that was associated with the mode. (Also, if made like this, it would show just how much cooler you guys are then those jokes that made, "Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi.")
-Downloadable Content
This could involve anything from stages, to costumes and characters but the real fun would be the "Ninja on the Battlefield" Mode DLC. Maybe those who helped Naruto the first time around could have to Download the second story mode if they REALLY wanted it. This is a little dirty and underhanded, but it shows that their in-game choice REALLY matters.
A third story could be made available that, through the plot, unlocks more original jutsu/ ultimate jutsu and Byakugan or maybe even Rinnegan with there own Jutsu. (Almight Push/ Universal Pull for Rinnegan and Rotation and 64 palms for Byakugan). Also more special attire for the created characters and such.
Thank you for taking the time to read all this, I hope I have helped in someway and that at least some of these suggestions are recognized and made into fruition. Either way, I'll pre-order Ultimate Ninja 3 as soon as I can and buy my Xbox 360 a Gold Membership when I go pick up the game.
