This is a long read, but I can PROMISE you will enjoy it if you enjoy reading on NB's Writers Base.
When I first joined in January, I introduced myself. However, I was shy and didn't fully open up to the Base. This is my chance to do so. To give you a look into my life, my world, my very being, as well as my inspirations for my writing, my writing process and plans for writing on the Base. Depending on feedback I might have a big announcement, but that will come later...
Hello, my name is Alan Mann, (never guess how many jokes are made at my expense because of my curse of a surname. The best one is when I get mail addressed to Mr. A Mann... Mystery man? XD
I am 20 going on 21 this September and I take pride in the fact I still have so much more to give the world.
I am rather shy when it comes to talking about myself, but open when voicing my opinion, especially regarding the Uchiha clan and Naruto in general.
My favourite music involves most genre's. I mostly listen to Rock, but I love any music that has deep, emotional meaning. I use music to gather inspiration and to motivate me when writing, drawing, imagining or when bored and unable to sleep. Like right now, it's 3:30 am in Scotland as I type this..
My favourite games are anything that has a decent story. I am fanatical about anything to do with Kingdom Hearts. But I also enjoy Bioware's Dragon Age and Mass Effect. I am always on Naruto Storm 2, G and 3, usaully screaming at the Tv because some douche has decided to "Masked Man" me.
When I am not increasing my blood pressure I am on here, talking, theorizing (not very well) or making a complete tit of myself... And I couldn't love it any more than I currently do. I LOVE THIS FORUM.
Now on to my inspirations.

But the story I have provided in that biography is based on me, with a few minor changes. The way I have described the character is, loosely, based on my own appearance. I am very tall, roughly 7", I have dark long hair that reaches my neck. And my eyes are quite peculiar, they look similar, but one has a blueish tint and the other has a greenish tint. I don't believe I have Heterochromia, but it makes my character more interesting, doesn't it? As for my characters parents, yes you guessed it, they are based on my own. I am not in foster care, and I love my family unconditionally. My mother is kind and loving, but not a part of the Uchiha, that was apparently too much too ask of the world.... My dad is always working away and loves his drink, and when he isn't looking at me with disdain through the bottom of a bottle, he is telling me to get back out into the world and get a job, even after my abysmal failure at the hands of my last employers. The characters personality is what I want to be, a kind, loving, open person who isn't afraid to act a little childish. Alas I have a shell with many layers, and I am drowning in a sea of fears. Is that poetic, or silly? I can't tell...
Now for my writing process. I have a story that I have been slowly adding to since 2007, as you can see I am right on top of that... It's more of an account of my life and the people I have met since I can remember. The story isn't anywhere nearing completion, and I love that. It means I can still add people I know into it, and change anything I want.
Now for a, what I consider weird, ability I posses... I am quite shy about this since I don't know if anyone else does this, but I can create vivid and diverse... Scenarios. In my head, like a movie being played. This cannot be done with things I have seen though. I have tried many times to recreate the Sasuke vs Bee fight in my head, but to no avail. Here is an example, the first time I realized my imagination was as clear as a HD TV. I was in the car of my uncle, going to work, which is on the other side of Scotland, in total about an hours drive every morning. One day I decided to bring my iPod with me as sitting in the back listening to my dad and uncle prattling on about "This topic" and "That topic" got rather boring. I Will Not Bow by Breaking Benjamin came on and I thought I was dozing off, but instead I was creating a scenario in my head and completely ignoring everything else around me.
In this "Daydream" I was atop a snowy mountain with 3 of my friends. Please bear in mind that this world has no technology and me and my friends had enhanced physical abilities and magical powers which were all unique. Now I won't divulge names or dialogue because I don't want to feel any more shy than I do right now... Me, Red, Green and Blue were entering a structure of some sort near the peak of this mountain. Just then the ground began to shake violently and a roar came from within the temple. At 0:35 we ran for cover behind some pine trees, quite ironic as those were the lyrics... And as we did, a massive shadowy monster tore through the structure. We weighed our options and decided to try and get away, but we had no transport... Just as the chorus kicked in I took my sword and chopped the tree I was behind and made makeshift "Snowboards". We jumped on them and started barreling down the mountain top dodging, darting and weaving through the tree lines ensuring to make it through this alive.The monster was hot on our heels and was gaining fast. The particular enemies in this story are able to rob anyone of their energy with a simple touch and even completely eradicate their existence as though they never existed with prolonged contact. The monster was comprised completely of "The Darkness", an unknown malleable form of existence that is able to morph its body to attack, defend, blend in with society and had a shadowy aura, piercing yellow eyes and resembled a Behemoth from the FF series. As we tried to escape by separating the monster morphed the hairs on its darkened back to attack, it's at the second chorus, roughly 1:56, where we unleash a barrage of magical attacks, the only thing capable of damaging the creature and preventing our imminent destruction. I spin on the log of wood, with lances of lightning extending from my hands, slicing the creatures hairs and protecting my friends, Red attacks with a rain of fire balls launched from his palms, Green slices through the hairs with wave after wave of wind as Blue uses the moisture in the snow to make water and cut through. We are nearly home free but then it struck us, a settlement lies ahead... We have to stop this monster or else it will destroy the settlement. At 2:32 I leap from the board and stand my ground. A black aura envelopes me. Then I summon my "Familiar" Letalis. Latin for lethal and quite apt, considering its menacing appearance oozes a palpable feeling of death. The monster collides with me and we clash. My friends make it to a safe distance and notice the colossal battle ensuing and throw everything they have at us, knowing I will be okay. The magical assault connects at 3:30 and I am swallowed by a piercing light.
Note that this entire battle took 3:30 minutes to happen in my head, but 50 minutes to give you an adequate view into my head by typing it out in the most comprehensive way I could...

So what do you think. Depending on feedback from this I might do this on the Writers Base regularly. Make scenario's combined with music and post for everyone's amusement. Or continue to write poetry based on my personal experiences. I will probably start RP'ing soon too, I hope to be as active as I possibly can, and I can't wait to make new friends and have the best time, all here on NarutoBase!!
