... where abouts is your room... do you have a mobile phone... who do you live with? can you phone the mobile phone of the people you live with... is there a window you can get out if worst comes to worst... if it is on fire and you're only a few stories up you can throw a mattress out to cushion the landing a bit.... more than 2 stories up it starts getting more dangerous... hopefully it's a garden outside your window and not concrete. if u think it's on fire... try and phone the fire brigade...I'm actually serious dude.
and no... if you open the door when there's a fire you'll die basically instantly... it's called a backdraft or something... the sudden oxygen given to the fire makes it burn more... heating the air more expanding the gas inside etc... it can blow off doors and stuff... and your room would be engulfed in flames... so don't open it...
if you do anything... feel the door handle with the back of your hand or something... it'll be hot if there's a fire... don't grab it cos if it burns your hand and you can't use it you're in trouble...

Look at the base of the door. If you can see under it, and there is a "glow" call the FD, and GET OUT.
same here.....thats why at first i thought it was a joke i mean how can you have time to make a thread...to say your house is on fire...instead of going to check...i mean come on......

I called my aunt earlier and the backdoor was open and she looked through the glass window and saw that a glow lamp was half blown up and there was a small fire next to my wall. She used our back hose and washed it down but there's is allot of smoke and now i'm worried for her since what L lawliet said. =/
