Gai delivered in this episode. That dragon (night moth) was on Par to Rival/battle tailed beasts, perfect susano'o, or hashis giant mokuton buddha statue. the fact that Gai symbolised the fire coming out of the dragons mouth was Epic... bending time and space because of the speed and power of the attack...

manda survived the suicide attack by deirida for a couple seconds...was talking to sasuke after... it didint even oblitertate manda eithe rjust left him with burns...still died though but sasuke inside was compelteply fine.

Gai > Hashirama after this last chapter. He nearly killed God Sage Madara for darn sake!

Itachi is clearly in top 5, give me a reason he's not? And a suicide attacks counts, you know why? Beacause every tech in NV is a suicide attack buddy. The user looses chakra everytime they use a tech. And when they overuse a tech they die in the end, i happens to everyone. Gai's was just more intense and kills him faster.

Its kinda different with Hashirama because his wood can absorb chakra and his flower world causes ppl that inhale it to fall asleep. Its up in the air considering the speed of 8 gates but Hashirama is slightly above him only because of these two long range ninjutsu

Considering what it did to Madara with the Juubi inside of him its safe to say Gai in eight gates is easily one of the strongest characters in the narutoverse. I would say after this hes strong enough to take anyone probably around Hashiramas level, still don't think he could take Nagato level or higher.

For me personally it goes without the Juubi

Itachi isn't top 5 because there are characters who beat him

Using a technique tons of times and running out of chakra =/= technique that's made to kill the opponent and the user
