So I've been saving up for a house the last couple of years I only have 1 year left to pay it off , I was suppose to move in with my girlfriend but she's decided to go to the military. She claims she still wants to be with me but I don't know if I should wait on someone who just got up and decided to get up in leave do you think i should wait 8 years for her, They have a policy if your married to the person you can go with them so she wants to get married before she leaves. I'm not going to lie i'm pissed off if i stay or wait for her i don't care i'm cheating i did my part **** that am i wrong for that?

If I were you... Well, if it really seemingly came out of nowhere, personally I would try to discuss the issue with her and try to understand her reasoning.

Then, if I would've found her reasoning not convincing enough, I'd try to talk her out of it.

If it is convincing enough, then you really should ask yourself a question - are you ready for the life this opportunity offers you? If not, then just break up with her (that's what I would've done in a situation like this anyway, lol). If yes, and if you love her enough, well ... to be honest, I'd rather still break up with her

Did you two talk how you two were going to plan things out? Was her decision really out of nowhere and sudden? Did she never mention what was her plans to you nor ask you if you were going to be involved or not? Did you told her yours and asked hers or you two planned on your own and assumed other one knew automatically?

Frankly it's something you two need to sort out among yourself. Talk out your personal expectations form each other and how much you can compromise with each other and how your individual career choices are going to affect both of you economically as well as emotionally. All that jazz... If you need advice seek it from some one you know but who is relatively neutral third party ( parent/friend any one you trust to be sensible enough) without pressuring them to take side- inform them of reasons of both and then decide for yourself.

We don't know either of you to know your circumstances or various other factors to say much useful. If you just want to vent on internet then it's another matter.

PS: just noticed the cheating bit.. wow! If it's on of the first things in your mind in such a situation, you are already heading towards the split anyway. Let her go before she finds out you are that likely to cheat if already haven't done so. Less trouble for both of you.

Its not like you won't see her for 8 years, she'll be gone for 3 months at basic, come home, get assigned, and you can go with her and live with her on base.

Its just a job, she won't be gone forever unless she's called out to war, which women hardly ever are unless you're some exception, most just have a desk job.

If you don't wanna be with her then fine, she'll probably find a manlier guy to **** her right in the military if you don't want her. But if you still wanna try to make it work then don't be salty about her figuring out what she wants.
