Well, that's just a matter of preference. I have a few friends, and all they talk about and want to do is hooking up with women. I'm not like that myself. I've been with a few women, would've probably been a lot more if I didn't have a girlfriend three years, but it's not all about getting some strange all the time.
I believe you. But that's love, a whole different thing. If I was in love with her, my friend would probably understand. I just want to have some fun.
Oh well, people are different. What you might deem as a problem/issue, I might not, and vice versa.

From what you have said though, it sounds like the whole relationship between your friend and his ex was not that serious. So if you slept with her it might not be that bad. Also she was your girlfriend first, so you have more of a right to sleep with her in a sense. But I am not a dude, so I do not know how guy codes go. lol Best bet it what I wrote above this.
