Hey guys,
Please take time to asses the following information I provide and make your own judgement based off it.
Of course it is a theory, but based on what the Manga says, [and of course it is just my opinion for now]
This is in relation to the possible identity of the 'Mystery Person', ahead of Sasuke:
1. Possible Candidates [based on what I have seen]:
From the plethora of threads created the following are the most common candidates:
A. Jiraiya
B. Uchiha Shisui
C. Elder/Younger Son [of the Sixth Paths]
D. Kabuto
The following is my own ''debunk'' of each contender, who i believe the person is and why.
A- Jiraiya
This in my opinion is the most unlikely candidate, [yes you read correct].
The potential ''return'' of Jiraiya all stemmed from the following moment:
However, we are aware that Jiraiya was stabbed multiple times, lost an arm had his throat crushed against Pein, not to mention he sank into the ocean.
Another ''buzz'' that went around was that, the reason Kabuto did not use Jiraiya as part of the Edo Tensei was that he was alive, however Kabuto mentioned that:
The body being at the bottom of the ocean.
Kabuto also hinted he could still revive Jiraiya, [another slight confirmation of his death], when he mentioned that he could still obtain DNA of Jiraiya from the weapons of the ''Various Pains'', to which T/obito responded with:
So thus i come to the conclusion that Jiraiya is not the ''Mystery Person''
B- Uchiha Shisui
Another fan favourite for the mystery person is , Uchiha Shisui.
The buzz for his potential return has been going on for years.
From the potential leader of Akatsuki, to the identity of 'Tobi', many fans have been desperate to see the man in action, especially as he was touted with having the best Genjutsu of the Uchiha.
The latest buzz began when Kabuto mentioned:
Due to not finding his body, the fans as for Jiraiya, went into speculation that he was still alive somehow.
However in chapters that were to come, Itachi debunked this theory when he stated:
Another problem with this candidate, is that he has no eyes, as Danzo stole, [then subsequently destroyed one eye], and Itachi casted 'Kotoamatsukami' with the other rendering it useless for a Decade, [and then subsequently destroyed it with Amaterasu].
A new argument is that Madara was capable of using Sharingan related Jutsu such as , ''Susaanoo'', without any eyes.
Despite the obvious fact that Madara, was a cocktail of Uchiha + Senju , he also received Hashirama's sage chakra, which would then grant him perception of Chakra of those around him even without vision.
An example of this was Naruto's fight with Pein:
By breaking the vision-link between the paths of Pein, and engulfing himself and one of the paths in total darkness, Naruto made use of his Sage Chakra to pick that path apart.
Now back to Shisui, losing both eyes is a minor point, the main point here is the confirmation of his death by Itachi.
To access the Mangekyou Sharingan, an Uchiha would have to experience a great Loss to themselves.
There are those who argue Itachi gained the eye when he massacred the Uchiha, i ask them what manga have you been reading.
Itachi first demonstrated those eyes here :
When he was 'questioned' regarding Uchiha Shisui's death.
Considering Itachi:
It is save to assume that he accessed these eyes, when he witnessed his 'Brother's' death.
So thus i come to the conclusion that Uchiha Shisui is not the ''Mystery Person''
C- Elder/Younger Son [of the Sixth Paths]
Another far fetched possibility, is the arrival of one of, [in some cases both], the sons of the sage of sixth paths.
This was buzzing from the get go, with many wanting to see the power capable of the Uchiha and Senju ancestor's.
The irony with this candidate, is that there is no hint, [subtle or blatant], at his or ''their'' possible return.
One claimant referred to the chakra aura as well as the hair of the mystery person resembled the elder/younger son:
As laughable as that theory is, it has to be acknowledged as it has been put forward.
The main problem with the son, [either], returning is AGE.
The sage of sixth paths aged, and DIED
He had to choose a successor for his 'will' to be continued and chose the younger son:
If their father, who was powerful enough, [and had enough chakra], to seal the Juubi in Chibaku Tensei so large it became the Moon, could not escape the Human certaintity of death.
How would his children, who would revive them?, who would know how?
Based on these unanswerable questions, [with proof], i come to the conclusion that the Elder/Younger son is not the ''Mystery Person''
D- Kabuto
A main candidate for the mystery person has been for many, [up until the latest chapter], Kabuto.
The main reasons why stem as follows.
Kabuto as we all know, is an extremely skilled Medic Nin, and is STILL ALIVE, unlike the other candidates above.
Kabuto of course, was left trapped in Izanami by Itachi:
and Itachi also hinted to Kabuto during the battle:
Now Itachi explained that Kabuto would have to stop deceiving himself and accept his ''Real Self''
Now hold onto that point, as i digress into other matters.
Karin in the latest chapter stated:
She confirmed the following:
1. Someone is at Sasuke's location
2. She said 'was' for Sasuke, not that he was moved, but that she can no longer sense Sasuke anymore
3. She came to a realisation about the chakra: 'This Chakra...I have a very bad feeling'
I out put forward the following side points, Orochimaru did not sense the chakra Karin did.
Karin initially sensed someones presence, then came to some sort of realisation.
She never verbally or internally mentioned that she did not know who it was, she rather said she had a bad feeling.
Orochimaru was the one to say ''Mysterious person''.
In this side point, one could argue Karin does not know what happened to Kabuto, and for all she knows he is still after Sasuke's body, hence her bad feeling.
The more common assumption is that she has no idea who it is, this can also be debunked as follows:

We know that someones, will/feelings affect how their chakra can be percived.
An example of this is :
If Kabuto was to come to a realisation of his true self, a change in how his chakra is perceived and recognised is very possible.
However Karin should still be able to recognize Orochimaru's former right hand man, so please see the following.
Kabuto as we know injected himself with Orochimaru's DNA:
Orochimaru prior to taking back his own chakra, mentioned about Kabuto:
and then took his Chakra and his alone:
However! remember that he also has concocted a cocktail of the following shinobi into his DNA:

3. Karin + Suigetsu:
Not to mentioned he gained 'Juugo's ability', [Nature Chakra], by self training:
Thus i come to the conclusion that the mystery person is Kabuto, based on the following assumptions, [backed up by my proofs above]:
1. Kabuto is a medic, perfect for the situation
2. Upon release from Izanami, Kabuto's chakra would be different to how it was recognised before
3. Mix of DNA, causing unrecognisable chakra
4. Repaying Itachi for 'helping' him find his self by aiding Sasuke
