I wonder if they can force women into the draft... I have 3 brothers and 4 sisters and almost all of them are below the age of 13.
My oldest sister is 16 but she's a girl so I don't know how this works.

Unless you live in a barn somewhere in Nebraska, you know what's going on with the U.S. and Russia/Ukraine. I think this situation is a bunch of bullshit for many valid reasons, but I'm not here to argue politics with kids who listen to everything their parents spoon feed them. (no offense to you who actually keep up with the news)

Say we go to war with Russia and there's a draft. What will you do? I mean, you could always injure yourself and avoid war. Or, you could fight in a pointless war you may or may not entirely agree with, by force. American men should really give this some thought, because it may happen in a few years. I'll be turning eighteen soon, and I'm definitely concerned.

I found it somewhat interesting a few months back when I began hearing radio advertisements encouraging people to sign up for the selected service (draft).

Something about it didn't quite sit right with me. While, yes, it is the law to do so... I don't think it is that they were actually trying to improve draft registration numbers. They did try to tie it to things like education benefits and other such stuff (register for the draft so you can get student grants and other hand-outs)... but with their major draw-down of forces following the withdraw from Iraq (we were looking at manning cut in half in many communities within the military before I got out) - it sounded absolutely odd to be running a 'draft campaign.'

Now I'm becoming horribly suspicious of the whole thing.

My father was drafted into Vietnam - and he served his tour of duty.

Perhaps there is little different between then and now - or perhaps there is all the difference in the world. I wasn't alive then, and he is no longer around to ask questions about the political and military climate of the time.

But from where I stand, right now, it is obvious that our government is instigating a conflict in Ukraine - and creating even more problems between Gaza and Israel. If that wasn't enough - they are distributing illegal 'refugees' throughout our country (many of whom are teenagers with gang affiliation).

As far as I'm concerned - they are so far out of control in DC that I would prefer anarchy to what is going on. It is time for the leaders of this nation (not the politicians) to wrest control from the lunatics in office - and if they instate a draft to go to war against Russia - it needs to be done by any means necessary.

While we can fight a war against Russia - and we can win.... it's such a stupid and pointless thing to do at this point. While I feel for the people of Ukraine, and it is obvious that Russia has provoked the division of the country... it is also obvious that we have warmongers in our government who simply want to destroy the BRIC because our federal reserve is a crony system with fools running it.

You kids don't deserve to have your futures ruined over a bunch of Stalinist lunatics in our whitehouse.

Hopefully - the problem will be nixed before it comes to a head... but if it does... there's only one place America needs to invade - and that is DC. Then we can make a stop by the Federal Reserve and get rid of that system (though it's going to hurt ... a lot - it's going to hurt more if we let it continue to go - gold and silver or notes backed by either are the only legal tenders in the U.S.). Maybe we can sweep by the IRS and help them find their e-mails before throwing every one of them off the roof.

Then, maybe, we could return to a government operating in accordance with a constitution that limits its authority as opposed to this insane wreck of a fascist oligarchy we have right now.

Meh there is plenty of army/marines/air force/navy troops already available and that may have already join, an involuntary draft seems highly unlikely.

Generally speaking, no.

The main reason they instate the draft is because they need plenty of people to fill the infantry ranks to soak up the incoming fire. Females have only recently been allowed into direct combat roles - but I don't see them making that anything other than voluntary.

Though, at the rate Obama is doing things - nothing would surprise me.

I would see the draft being used mostly to get rid of the conservative voting base. Those most likely to respond to a draft summons are those of the politically conservative mindset.

Most of the voters of the democrat party will simply not show up, and - just like with the IRS and the flood of illegal migrants - the courts will be told to not prosecute those from typically liberal demographics.

Since women tend to be a more liberal demographic - you're probably pretty safe to just stay at home if it ever happens.

Unless you're a white male from suburban or rural America. They'll pile six guys in a van to haul your ass in.

The only thing America will do is impose sanctions.

There are no world banks in Russia. The world bank controls America, and for Russia to fight America, they'll need to borrow money from the world bank.
