I'd say tell him right away, he already has amnesia so it's not like he's suffering now, there will never be a right time.

Well, that's one hectic story..Where do people get the balls to jump in front of a train..No matter how miserable, I could never even give suicide a serious try

you never know...really. once you reach a certain point it doesnt matter anymore, you wont need any balls for that....
and btw, many people claim to have wanted to kill themselfes. (me included) but it was after i did my attempt, that i realised, that if i really had wanted to succed, i would have succeded...

It depends if he got retrograde amnesia or anterograde amnesia. Can he form and hold newer memories or did he lost the ability to remember thing such as the people around him.
Cause if he can't then you're just going to have to repeat yourself to him often about what he did. So I wouldn't bother, since someone else probably told him what he did.

If he's able to obtain newer memories and only lost a few months worth of it,would you rather not tell him what happened to him to prevent him from doing it again. Cause whatever made him unhappy to the point to commit suicide is lost. Telling him now will probably make him want to do it again cause he will remember what caused it. If he doesn't get depressed about losing his arm that is.

Sometimes it's better to leave people in the dark to protect them from repeating the same mistakes.

Also sometime people that lost their memories end up being a different person from what the used to be. Like their personality changed. Seeing from people that I know of that lost their memory after an accident.

If he still remembers you and all that, just wait until he recovers.

He has the right to know. Just make sure to tell him that if he has any problems you're there for him.

You're right. I guess we'd know damn well if we're up for it or not, deep inside.

I hope he starts getting his memories back

So I've been in the university today and noticed that he is missing. This was the very first time since we both started to study and he didn't contact me one the morning as usual either :eww:

After the todays lessons I got a call from his girlfriend,
She cried a lot and spoke unclearly but the words were understandable. "He jumped infront of a train". He survived but lost one arm and has amnesia, heck he asked why he is missing an arm and the police lacks the reason for his suicide move.

What I want to ask is.. Is it right to tell him the truth, saying he lost one arm by commiting suicide (even tho he survived). I mean whatever the reason was, he doesn't know it anymore so telling him that he tried to kill himself and that causing amnesia and -1 arm is kinda wrong in my eyes :|

Note: He is my best friend that is also why I am so angry that he never thought about talking with me about whatever caused this shit situation U_U

If it happened just today he is probably still in the hospital isn't he? Why don't you ask his doctor or let him tell his patient?

He doesn't remember it and you yourself seem to know only as much as told by his GF then it's not like you can tell him much beside making him more curious or depressed about what was he thinking. He might remember it slowly himself or there can be more clear info later on. what's the hurry?

Give him time definetly. I suffered from amnesia several months after my crash, and these things are too impactfull to share with right of the bat. (In my case, my friend told me what happened, and I regained full memory within a week, but becaouse of the regained memory of that specific event, I was a wreck for months.) If he does not start to recollect things and the act itself within few months than tell him. Though this is from my point of view ofc. By spending time with him you should figure it out yourself. Good luck and hope he gets well.
