Not really liking the Sasuke or Madara ava since they look kind stretched and it doesn't really blend in with the background.

thanks for pointing that out, but i tried to bring his face in closer since the ava is 150 x 200.
iv'e seen many people do that, but at least i tried

Just got bored and decided to screw around with gimp and made two avatars Not the best but there Okay for my first try

blending really isn't the main issue with them
since the background isn't very visible, therefore, not much you can do to blend it in
the issue that is bothering me the most is that the render looks plain.
what you gotta do is, try to add effects on the render, using the background's color.
like small amounts of fractals, maybe
or...add some gradients, and change the layer mode to "soft light"..and decrease the opacity to your liking.

but great job, considering you're a beginner
