Actually standing in front of sun and doing jinton is a pretty good idea, it may work
Amaterasu also requires a little prep so worst case scenario both muu and itachi get hit by each other's jutsu

And since we know that any fodder from Iwagakure knows simple Earth Wall jutsu it's more than obvious Muu being a Tsuchikage knows it as well. In this situation, nothing stops him from creating a wall under Itachi and pushing him out of his Susanoo.

It doesn't mean Muu takes this 100%, but it gives him a REALLY big advantage.

Gaara had to hold down Susanoo and used sand that was already inside. That's an external attack.

Having a wall come out from the ground Itachi is standing on is an external attack and its not the same as what Gaara did.

He would have been one shotted by when he brought up that wall as he needs to reveal his chakra to use any jutsu, that means becoming visible. Jinton would never happen.

One shotted by what? Muu would be directly under Itachi and it means no Amaterasu, no Tsukuyomi and no Totsuka slash.
