Does anyone else think a multilingual forum in the Community section would be great? Or even a sub-forum in General Discussion! :)

I personally think it would be great for non-native English speaking members to chat in their native language or for those who just want to practise their language skills.

This idea was suggested a while ago. Versuvio said if a discussion thread in General Discussion was popular enough he would make a subforum. It died out in a week or two and the sub-forum was never made.

It's too limited to make a subforum for it, let alone a forum.

We make such sections for specific, defined topics. For instance sports, movies, books, One Piece, Fairy Tail etc. However you want to talk in specific languages, with other words you are talking about the tool you need to discuss something, but the point of a section is the topics of the discussion. What are going to do there? Random chatting? Talking about Naruto or music? For that we have sections, there's no need to make another section to discuss the same topics just so that you could do it in another language. Not only would people then walk past each other as many people probably wouldn't understand the thread, it would be impossible to moderate as it's not like that we understand all the languages that exist.

If you simply want to talk in your own language, stick to VM's or make a social group for people that speak that specific language.

Well, how about a sticky in General Discussion?

The thread that I've started has garnered a lot of attention.

I would love you so much forever. :)

Your thread is essentially the same as Faye's thread here:

So the short answer is no.
Not really.

My thread is encouraging active, full conversation for anyone and everyone who speaks a language aside from English.

Faye's thread is just a game of making single sentences.

Yeah, otherwise you wouldn't have wrote "write a sentence in your language".

People have been having full blown conversations in my thread and it isn't restricted to just the person's native language.

It gives other people learning other languages a chance to fully immerse themselves in conversation.
