He had Obito's Rikudou chakra, Rikudou chakra is what Indra also had. Basically a Sharingan powered by Rikudou chakra grants the user a similar eye power that Indra possessed which is why Kakashi had a flying PS like Sasuke.

But Kakashi is a one in a trillion exception, only reason he was able to use PS is because Obito kept the Rikudou chakra from being a former JuubiJin when he transmigrated into Kakashi temporarily

Naruto goal was to defeat Sasuke without killing him. He couldn't achieve that goal if he's equal with Sasuke. That's only possible if Naruto is stronger than Sasuke.

SM Naruto vs Pain wasn't Naruto's peak in SM. His SM was even stronger during the war. Naruto SM became stronger with every battle just like Sasuke MS.

By having Rikudou chakra and temporarily transferring it to Kakashi, Obito managed to give Kakashi a Sharingan powered by the same chakra that Indra possessed, as a result Kakashi was able to use a flying PS like Indra and Sasuke.


But it was only temporary and will never happen again as the odds for that to happen is a one in a trillion. In fact the odds for that to happen are so low that calling it an ass pull is 100% justified.

We already knew this. SM Naruto have nothing that can breach Sasuke's Susano'o. Only sad thing is Kishimoto gave MS a nerf with the blindness and the hurting cells/backlash. That was Pain arc, you should know by now Naruto's power drastically increases after gaining experience using a new power-up. In other words, after Pain arc Naruto's SM was on a entirely new level compared to when he used it to save Konoha.
