Lol, that's because he was submerged in water. Of course he won't be able to breathe. There was nothing wrong with him after using Hirudora. Nothing at all. He was spamming EE, a much stronger attack in a much more painful state, the Eighth Gate. Gai not being able to use more than one Hirudora is nonsense.

Bee, Aoba, and Naruto are able to talk normally and even fight the sharks thats inside the bubble with them. Clearly Gai can't do anything, hes floating legs and arms spread out, the shark is biting him and hes not even fighting back, and he clearly says the "7th Gate exhausted me" and we get the "Gurgle" effect which means hes struggling to breathe. I believe that because after he had used DTT and out of the 7th Gate and was still experiencing its effects, when he should have recovered/been recovering is evidence that he can't use several while in that form.

Here before they march off he is completely incapacitated. This means opening that 7th Gate has a prolonged effect and gets worse as time goes on, from him not being able to move properly to being completely beat. I give him a maximum of 2, but this argument is kinda pointless because even 1 kills Sasuke, but still. Just saying.

Except you forgot the fact that the shark didn't kill him like they did to Kisame and further he must have defended himself since they were unable to kill him. So yes he was fighting back. Not to mention he also used the 6G Gate before that and used Asakujaku. It exhausted him doesn't mean he can't use it again when at his limit he could still use hirudora.

During the war period, He fought a lot and resorted into using the 6G and used the 7th after that. His stamina is crazy. The fact that he can use EE several times while in terrible pain and still use NM is more than enough to convince anyone that he can use hirudora more than once.

And that was during the war period which was after the period with Kisame. He was indeed getting healed but that was time after his encounter with Kisame. The 7G has bad effects but he can fight after it. Against Kisame he was till able to fight even while in the 7G

Doesn't mean he won't be down after the battle. The fact that he could still fight after hiruodora and was still in the 7G and not down convinces me since in the 8G he could use other techniques while his situation was worse. Opening the 7G and using hiruodora again would be nothing since he has shown to do it in his limit.
