Obito is at a skill level that is on par with itachi exept obito had a much stronger body also obito has huge chakra reserves that far outmatch itachi a good knoledge of jutsu and uchiha jutsu thanks to madara

Take it from someone who doesn't like Obito anymore *cough thanks to Variaboss* Obito was only cautious of Itachi not afraid of him. If anything Itachi was afraid/cautious of Obito more so.
