Dude, are you comparing the guy who got STOMPED by KAKASHI to Itachi?the manga it's quite clear on who was stronger as Obito seemed to fear Itachi.

Itachi was under the belief he was Madara. Obito was clearly seen saying he was fortunate that Itachi didn't know otherwise. It's how ppl use that belief as "proof" he knew he couldn't beat the dude when there was a clear case of mistaken identity going on. Using that logic, Kisame couldn't beat him because he didn't do anything to him.

Needed his help for what? Stop trolling bish! Obito was interested in recruiting Sasuke, and for that he needed Sasuke to be the one to kill Itachi, otherwise Sasuke would have directed his hate towards him instead. Also, he knew Itachi planned to die at Sasuke's hand so there was no need to soil his hands.
