How do you feel about how long a movie lasts? This area of a movie is usually very negatively critiqued upon. Such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It's often said that these were great movies, pulled down by there length time. Along with The Avengers, or The Dark Knight trilogy.

Personally, I love any kind of movie, if it's good of course. Length time only matters to me when the movie is terrible.

Another movie series that comes to mind is the Harry Potter series. They were decent-OK movies, but on the other side of the spectrum. I feel that if they didn't worry so much about run time, than they could've been even better. Endings were rushed along in a bunch of those movies.

So, what do you prefer? Shorter movies or longer movies?

Longer movies. Like Percy Jackson, the books are really good but the movie was terrible. Longer movies have more details etc. so i like them more.

depends on the movie lord of the rings could have been 6 hours less if they cut out a lot of the walking and other stupid crap and harry potter was not rushed lol they split the last movie into two parts so they could get your money twice for the same movie same with those lame ass twilight movies

The appropriate length of a movie is solely dependent on the content of that individual movie. If they only have 50 minutes of decent material, they should make a 50 minute movie. If there's a lot of captivating story to cover, I don't mind sitting in the theater for 3 hrs. (though they should include an intermission).

dont know about anyone else but if you read the lotr books and the silmarillion etc than you kinda want longer movies because they did such a good job with the extended edition, they added so much details

if a movie is good, the longer the better
