Why do people get triggered when some other culture is involved in eating dogs when they themselves eat pigs?

To most people dogs are Part of the family. My father cried 1 week straight after our dog died. You never owned a dog so you cant judge. And sure as hell you have no idea how the West works.

So dogs are a "part of family" therefore people can't eat them?

Why people don't condone the consumption of dog/cat, but continue to eat other animals like cows, poultry, lamb, and pigs is beyond me. These animals are just as conscious, and in some cases smarter than dogs. If you do not condone the consumption of dog, you should also fight to end the consumption of cows, poultry, pigs, and lamb.
