Well if you read the manga and watch the anime the first hokage was the most powerful. Not only that but the strongest ninja in history when you get with the facts. He beat Madara's as_ over and over when you go through their history, and Madara right now is suppose to be the strongest.

It's actually not an easy one...

The First has Mokuton, is able to defeat Time/Space users (Madara, obviously) and can take Tailed Beasts under his control.

The Second was a genius in Suiton, no doubt possible. He was able to use Time/Space jutsus (though I think it's still unclear which ones) and he invented Edo Tensei (I think this is the name, I forgot tbh).

The Third was okay-ish, but doesn't have any special skills bar The Dead Demon Seal. Then again, he was good enough to battle First + Second, and he wasn't in his prime time if we're being honest.

The Fourth, Space/Time user, Rasengan inventor, Master in Fuuin. And he was a tactical mastermind, considering how he figured out Madara after such a short amount of time fighting him.

The Fifth.... Wel to be honest, just no.


My vote would go to the First, considering his abilities and the fact that he can defeat Time/Space users, without having that skill to himself, and he can hold up against a MS, considering he fought Madara while he had the MS.

yeah we don't have actual proof when he gets his space/time (that i remember) i think what makes him stand out is the taming the tailed beasts, mokuton is awesome but we've seen alot of people strong enough to break wood and jutsus strong enough to wipe out big areas of forest, hes still one of the strongest in history just wish someone would use filler arcs to show up the background on the first 3 hokages in real top teir fights not just mention they happened and who won lol.

it sucks we never see sarutobi at his prime, but as far as reputations go hes supposed to be one of the most powerful ninja in history, the strongest hokage and the God of Shinobi (I know i say it alot xd) but if you read that fight the whole time we are told this isn't his real strengh, his chakra was super low (he could barely use shadow clones after a couple of jutsu and summoning enma) so his stamina at the time was probably the lowest we've seen of someone above genin, that limits someones fighting ability by ALOT if you think about how much 99% of the ninja world relies on their chakra to fight. and he knew everything besides KG from the leaf, probably learned rasengan but didn't someone say rasengan takes alot of chakra to use? so even if he did know it he wouldn't wanna waste the chakra on it, same with alot of other attacks.

minato was a genius no doubt i think he'll always be top10 in history (top 5 if you ask some people)

tsunade is a great doctor but i wouldn't call her "powerful" in a battle.

well im reading the manga all over so far they didnt give the 1st and 2nd any legend names unless i 4got lol but ya minato was in fact the fastest hokage and strong to the only one who managa to hurt madara besides konan

4th(minato) would be the strongest because he also had space time ninjutsu and when the time naruto was born he was face to face with madara and was able to escape with naruto when naruto was in the hands of madara he did it easily and perfectly and he was one to invent 'dead deamon sealing techneque'
