Definitely the wrong course of action. If he wants to decrease the abortion rate then maybe he should focus more on increasing the access rate of birth control, but since he is making it worse by not even helping these institutions or clinics, he is probably just making things worse. Just like Trump, I am also pro-life, so I never agreed with, or liked the idea of abortion, but I can also see why some women might want to get it, depending on their situation.
I also think it's really silly to call something that prevents such actions like funding abortion clinics "abhorrent", or maybe you were talking about the actual damage it will cause on these health institutions? Many people(mostly women) are only focusing on the abortion issue anyway.
I do agree with the point that this will not make abortions go away, it will just cause more women to go to the extremes to get them and if the woman is in dire critical situation that could effect her life, then that is also dangerous, but it is not like he is making abortions completely illegal.
From the view point of a rape victim, I can see why they would want to get rid of it, as they don't want to have the thought of keeping a child that was forced into them unwillingly, and the huge trauma that it causes on them, some are even scared to mention it to others and just want to keep quiet about it, so they just get an abortion to forget like it never happened, so that should be the only instance when they should be forced to kill it. I can see why some women might not want to carry that child for 9 months, considering it is not a child that they originally wanted.
But what about those women that want to willingly have *** without knowing the consequences, so they just want to get an abortion because they don't want to keep it, or because they can't afford it? What is their excuse? I don't think it is a very good one.
I have mixed emotions about this topic, but I am not even a woman so why tf do I care?
