actually i would choose neither the question is too vague
first off it is not asking if you would save, change places with, or if you choose to sacrifice the baby, child, or adult
second of all the building is collapsing and if you were in any position to make some type of choice you would also be dead.

why are people assuming that the question is to save one of them

human nature dictates self preservation
one has to go against ones own nature to save someone else at the cost of your own life.

i know it is possible as i am an disabled Army medic
and it is a very hard thing to do and it requires serious training and willingness to forego your own life for a greater good

the child has a lot of potential and knows what is happening. i couldn't live with myself knowing that i killed a child who was conscious of what is happening..

The reason (I think) people are choosing the baby is because the baby has the most potential in the world, and saw the least of it. Letting that one die, and others live would be unfair towards the baby more than the child or the adult, the baby wouldn't have even gotten a chance to live and it'd be considered unfair to let others live who have already seen at least some of what's out in the world.

Of course, I could be completely wrong :3. I choose the baby of course.

Child because:

1) Because he's already lived through some of his life, unlike the baby.

2) He has more to live for than the adult.

3) He's lighter than the adult.

4) Because everybody's picking the baby.

Wait, if i'm saving one and the building's collapsing, there's only three places i could be, on the roof, in the building, or on the ground. If i'm inside or on the roof then i'll die, collapsing with the building. If i'm on the ground i'll get crushed by falling building pieces. D. Myself
