(Doton: Domu) – Earth Release: Earth Spear Technique
This seems like a more advanced version of the previous armor I learned. Unlike the previous one, this one doesn't coat the user in stone. In fact, it changes the composition of their skin to a steel-like quality, which means its an even stronger defense than the original armor. At least cosmetically and when facing metals because rank wise, they hold the same defensive capabilities. Since the user is changing their composition, they wont suffer the speed loss due to the increased weight, he same would go for mobility and such. This armor defense also increases the strength of physical attacks. A down side, which really isnt a downside is that it requires a hand seal to activate, which means in close range, you need to be careful when or how you activate it. Also the skin tone changes so the user can be alerted of your defense. This technique is trickier to counter than the other armor because it holds less draw backs, however lightning would be the most useful approach, or slicing wind, of higher ranked in order to overcome their increased defense.
(Doton: Iwa Keiro) – Earth Style: Rock Trail
Unsure on whether or not this technique branches out from the user's short range or not, due to the exclusivity of it's range. Either way, this is a very simply showcase of earth manipulation, no hand seals are required, however a gesture is necessary for the activation to manipulate the earth. The user will slam his hands on the surface of the ground, which in some cases could prove to be fatal, although I may be being overly dramatic. Giant rocks will being to branch outwards from the initial point of manipulation as they increase in height and become bigger and bigger. A huge downside to this technique is that fact that the rocks are so large, it would obscure the user's vision of his target, though likewise in the other way. However this gives the opponent an nice opening to both defend and sneak around to attack his target by surprise. I would defend against this technique by getting airborne and releasing a technique straight towards my target. A straight assault would be obvious, in fact the user may change locations are releasing his technique so attacking the rising rocks directly might be wasteful. However, I am unsure whether or not constant contact is required with the ground for the technique to complete, if that's the case the user is really vulnerable and so, the user can really take advantage of that.
