Didn't he get beat up by a bunch of kids while in monster mode? What happened to the Monster Chopper whose fur could tank a CP9's Shigan?

Yes I know this may seem late but I was re watching Enies Lobby and wondered why those kids took him down so easy

They were still just children 50 children, even at 7 feet tall(which they all weren't) shouldn't = a trained assassin's finger gun technique.

Monster Chopper was a lot more aggressive than Monster Chopper (Post-TS). Chopper wouldn't hurt the kids and got beaten. That's my guess.

Well that doesn't mean that he would've get beat up, he just wasn't fighting back, if he had the body to withstand CP9 techs that why would the children hurt him that badly? Great question though.

I was thinking the same thing, Monster Chopper seems like a joke after the time-skip. It was much more badass before the time-skip, Sabaody and Enies Lobby Arc. I had hopes of seeing an epic Monster Chopper for the New World, but really it just looks like he's a pushover at this point.

monster mode was meant to hold the kids back and restrain them...not try to go crazy and kill them like cp9 era monster chopper. He could of easily killed all of the children had he chosen so U_U

Really? 'Cus that wasn't even the question I asked, so how is it the answer? I'm not talking about Chopper fighting. MChopper withstood a Shigan from an adult CP9 Assassin, every thing about that attack is greater in strength than all those children combined and he took multiple hits and literally tanked them, his fur bounced them right off. Yet this group of 50-ish kids beat him into near unconsciousness. Why? His fur alone should have been enough to withstand their attacks.

that means the kids were just that strong i guess, one of them sent luffy flying, they were lifting huge objects and smashing things with ease. They were experiments from Ceaser, who was tryna create super strong giants, i believe?

You're right op, that just doesn't make sense. His defense should be a lot higher than for those kids to even inflict damage on him.

Monster Children were given drugs that infused them with the power of giants.
Army of super gaints > Assassins finger.

Plus the finger is a piercing attack and fur helps animals like bears steal honey because the bees cant stab them.
But If I hit a bear with a truck the fur doesn't help.
Blunt on fur > Sharp on fur.


Plus monster chopper should start snapping again.
